This course provides the basic understanding of a theory, its development, and application to the etiology of crime, and its use to
understanding human, criminal and deviant behaviors. It includes the historical evolution of criminology, the different school of thoughts, the

process of measuring crime, as it relates to criminological research, the divisions and scope of criminology, and the justice system. This
course also introduces Criminology as a profession in the Philippines.
