Rules and Regulations

The Tournament is by invitation to reputed Social and Badminton Clubs in Tamil Nadu &
Pondicherry.

Tournament Format

The format of the team event will be: -

1) Senior Men’s Doubles – 70 Plus (Minimum Age – 30 & Total 70 plus)

2) Senior Men’s Doubles – 80 Plus (Minimum Age – 35 & Total 80 plus)
3) Senior Men’s Doubles – 90 Plus (Minimum Age – 40 & Total 90 plus)
4) Senior Men’s Doubles - 100 Plus (Minimum Age -45 & Total 100 plus)
5) Senior Men’s Doubles – 110 Plus (Minimum Age-50& Total 110 plus)

Other Rules and Regulations

1) ELIGIBILITY FOR PARTICIPATION IN SENIOR MENS DOUBLES – 70+

Both players age should be 30 years and above as on 31 st Dec 2023. Date of Birth should be
year 1993 or earlier and combined age of 2 players should be 70 years & above.(months can
be counted for combined age. Eg. 30.5months plus 39.7months=70)

2) ELIGIBILITY FOR PARTICIPATION IN SENIOR MENS DOUBLES – 80+

Both players age should be 35 years and above as on 31 st Dec 2023. Date of Birth should be
year 1988 or earlier and combined age of 2 players should be 80 years & above.(months can
be counted for combined age. Eg.35.5months plus 44.7months=80)

3) ELIGIBILITY FOR PARTICIPATION IN SENIOR MENS DOUBLES – 90+

Both players age should be 40 years and above as on 31 st Dec 2023. Date of Birth should be
year 1983 or earlier and combined age of 2 players should be 90 years & above. .(months can
be counted for combined age.Eg.40.5months plus 49.7 months=90)

4) ELIGIBILITY FOR PARTICIPATION IN SENIOR MENS DOUBLES – 100+

Both players age should be 45 years and above as on 31 st Dec 2023. Date of Birth should be
year 1978 or earlier and combined age of 2 players should be 100 years & above. .(months
can be counted for combined ageEg.45.5months plus 54.7months=100)

5) ELIGIBILITY FOR PARTICIPATION IN SENIOR MENS DOUBLES – 110+

Both players age should be 50 years and above as on 31 st Dec 2023. Date of Birth should be
year 1973 or earlier and combined age of 2 players should be 110 years & above. .(months
can be counted for combined age.Eg.50.5monthsplus 59.7months=110)

6) Submission of age proof, Aadhar Card or Birth Certificate is compulsory.

7) Punctuality – Team should assemble 30 minutes before schedule time. Punctuality to be maintained
strictly.

8) Restriction - A Player can play maximum of 3 categories.

9) The tournament will be conducted on knockout basis

10) The matches will be played on “Best of 1 Set – 30 points without extension form the knock out stage
up to quarter finals. Semifinals and finals shall be best of 3 sets 21 points without extension.

11) All rules of the Badminton Association of India will apply to this tournament except otherwise
notified by the Tournament committee.

12) Good quality reputed brand feather shuttles will be used for the matches.
13) The detailed draws, fixtures will be sent to all participating club BY WHATSAPP - 1 day before the
commencement of the tournament.

14) Matches will not be postponed and match timings will not be changed.

15) All matches will be played with the following timings

Friday – 5 pm to 11 pm
Saturday & Sunday – 8 AM to 11 PM
16) Match schedule
Friday 110+
Saturday 80+ and 100+
Sunday 70+ and 90+

Tournament Fees

1. The entry fee will be Rs.1200/- per team per event. Entries along with the match fee should be made
on or before 20th December 2023..

Decision of the Tournament committee will be final and binding on all matters of the Tournament.
Tournament committee reserves the right of not accepting any entry without assigning any reason
whatsoever.

The chief Referee’s decision with respect to line call, playing and shuttle conditions will be final and
binding. If schedule of matches goes beyond scheduled time due to unavoidable circumstances,
participating players have to cooperate.

Prize Money For all categories

1. Winners – Rs 8000 plus trophy

2. Runner up – Rs5000 plus trophy

3. Semifinalist – Rs 2500 plus trophy
