Assignment No. 2
International and Local Environmental Laws

Submitted by: Tobias, Kriezl T.

Submitted to: Ms. Analyn Balog
With the various laws enacted by the government to protect and conserve our
environment, what are the reasons why our country, particularly urban areas, is
highly polluted and suffered much from the effects of pollution?

Many factors contribute to the high levels of pollution in urban areas despite
government rules and regulations, making the problem of environmental
pollution there complex and different.

Upon research these are the three (3) factors:

1. Insufficient Environment Regulation Implementation

 Even while there may be environmental regulations established on
paper, their efficacy may be compromised by lax enforcement and
oversight. Weak implementation might be caused by a lack of
resources, corruption, or insufficient regulatory measures.
2. Climate Change
 Pollution problems can be made worse by climate change itself.
Pollutant distribution and effect can be influenced by abrupt changes
in precipitation patterns, temperature rise, and extreme weather.
3. Deforestation
 Urbanization typically leads to deforestation. In order to reduce
pollution and enhance air quality, trees and other plants are
essential.

To sum it up, the encouragement of environmentally friendly business practices

across several industries are all necessary components of an all-encompassing
and integrated strategy to address environmental pollution in urban areas.
