Patterned Coffee Cozy

DESCRIPTION

This mosaic pattern uses three colors to create a stitch


pattern inspired by the Triple Check stitch developed by
mathgrrl, detailed at
https://mathgrrl.com/hacktastic/2017/12/triple-check-
knit/.

YARN

1 primary color, 2 secondary colors in Caron Simply Soft


or other medium weight yarn

NEEDLES & NOTIONS

• 3.5mm/US 4 DPNs
• Stitch marker
• Tapestry needle (for weaving-in ends)

ABBREVIATIONS

S1wyib: slip 1 purlwise with yarn in back


S1wyif: slip 1 purlwise with yarn in front

INSTRUCTIONS

• In main color (A), loosely CO on 60 stitches. Spread across DPNs in multiple of 4 (16, 16, 16, 12
works well).
• [K1, P1] in rib for 6 rounds.
• On round 7, pick up the first contrasting color (B). [K1, P1, s1wyib, s1wyif] to end of round.
• On round 8, pick up the second contrasting color (C). [s1wyib, s1wyif, K1, P1] to end of round.
• On round 9, use main color (A). [K1, P1, s1wyib, s1wyif] to end of round.
• On round 10, use first contrasting color (B). [s1wyib, s1wyif, K1, P1] to end of round.
• On round 11, use the second contrasting color (C). [K1, P1, s1wyib, s1wyif] to end of round.
• On round 12, use the main color (A). [s1wyib, s1wyif, K1, P1] to end of round.
• Repeat rounds 7-11.
o The secondary colors are done at this point, so you can detach these from the yarn balls.
• Using the main color, [K1, P1] in rib for 6 rounds.
• Bind off and weave in ends.

NOTES

The pattern is a repeat of 4 stitches, so if you want to play with different needle sizes and
circumferences, use a multiple of 4 for the number of stitches to cast on.
