ROCKY I

- Rocky I the famous american movie filmed in Philadelphia and starred by the brilliant
actor Sylvester Stallone, was one of the biggest hits of the cinematographic industry,
along the 70s. The mix between the drama and action that this film contains makes it
unique, besides the iconic soundtrack arranged and conducted by the famous musician
Bill Conty.

- The film shows us the life of a young and poor Italian boxer who practices boxing for
fun and earns money working for the italian mafia, unusually, one day the winner of
the heavy weight championship of boxing , (Apollo), chose ramdomly a boxer to fight
against. Eventually, Rocky was choosen. Then, Rocky started training with an old man
called Myke, meanwhile, Rocky fell in love with a young and shy florist called Adrian
who supported Rocky during his training. At the end Rocky faced Apollo in front of
thousands of viewers, he was not able to win, however he resisted every single puch of
Apollo, and he was not defeated.

- Without any doubt, this film contains lots of essential values that we should follow in
our daily life, such as teaching us that you don´t need to be famous or rich to achieve
great things, as well as not giving up. In addition, this movie has an enormous impact
in nowadays society, encouraging people to practise sport and tryinng to overcome
oneself. Also, although Rocky made a dream come true, he always stayed humble and
thanked all the people the support he recieved during his adventure.

- To my mind, Rocky is much more than a simple film, the plot keeps you on the edge of
your seat until the movie ends, even though it seems like just another sports movie
more, it contains loads of values that we should learn and apply in our life, if I had to
choose a word to describe this movie, I would describe it as a master piece.
