Pre-reserved Seats

You can pre-reserve seats up to 11 months before the flight departs. You may also issue boarding passes
within 30 days before the flight departs.
Note Many airlines require that passengers check in at least 15 - 30 minutes before departure to retain the
pre-reserved seat. Refer to carrier's policy on pre-reserved seats.

1.1 Pre-reserve Seats by Zone Location

You can pre-reserve a seat in a specific zone and location for a single segment.

reserved seat".

The system assumes you're reserving non-smoking seats. You can also request a non-smoking window. Notice
the absence of the N for non-smoking.

You can pre-reserve a seat by seat number.

1.3 Pre-reserve Seats for All Segments

You can pre-reserve seats on all segments. You may request seats by zone and location or by specific seat
number.

If the PNR contains more than five confirmed host segments, you can use separate request entries for each
host flight segment or you can use a multiple segment entry for the first five segments.
Use the same entry to request pre-reserved seats by a specific seat number. For example:

You can request pre-reserved seats in different zones for passengers in the same PNR.

You can also use a single entry to accomplish both transactions. For example:

The system assigns the seats to the names in descending order because name association is not used. In other
words, the first three seats requested are assigned to the first three passengers. The last seat is assigned to the
last passenger in the name field.

1.5 Pre-reserved Seats by Name Number

You can request a pre-reserved seat for a specific name in the name field of a PNR.

You can request a non-smoking seat and a smoking seat using name numbers. Note the placement of the slash
in the entry. The slash separates the request for each individual zone and appears after the name association
data.

1.6 Pre-reserved Seats for Multiple Passengers

You can pre-reserve seats for multiple passengers in multiple PNRs.


Note The 4GT entry has been enhanced to support seat assignment, allowance and restriction rules when
they are applied to the Customer Entitlement Table (CET).
This entry:
l Allows you to pre-reserve seats for up to nine passengers within four PNRs in one entry
l Requires that you have at least one PNR displayed in your work area
l Requires the record locators to assign seats
l Seats can be specific i.e., 14ABC, or by zone N

system also adds an OSI (or Other Service Information) to each PNR and cross-references the companion

Once you display the pre-reserved seat data, there are two sets of seats: one for the originating leg of the
flight, and one for the continuing leg of the flight.
Note You can input either entry in any order, but remember, you must include the C in the entry for the first
leg of the flight.

1.8 PRS Restriction for Exit Rows

There are Special Service Requests (SSRs) that prevent seat assignments in emergency exit rows. The
following SSRs are inhibited from exit row seating.
Your carrier may prohibit some or all of the SSRs listed:

When you issue an emergency exit, the system warns you that you must check whether the passenger meets all
the criteria to sit there.

You can cancel and return pre-reserved seats to the flight’s inventory.

You can cancel a pre-reserved seat for a specific segment. The seat then returns to the flight's inventory.
