seen as a curious and somewhat eccentric character, drawn

Just as "personality" is used to describe various differences that can be
observed between people, we all have a unique fingerprint.

Our nature, experiences, connections and difficulties mould us into a

unique shape that we develop over time. Summarising these vast
differences into a single category, such as personality types, could detract
from the Enneagram's ability to accommodate all individual differences.
That is why wings must also be considered.

The wings represent those personality types that are most similar to us
(the first type on the left and on the right), the ones we share the most
characteristics with. Each individual tends to have a "dominant" wing with
which they share the most characteristics. This does not mean that the
other wing should be ignored or that there are no similarities with it.

A 5w4 takes on some traits of the 4s, which may give them a
creative tendency, allowing them to reflect and process their
emotions and ruminate more on their identity than the typical 5.
As a result, they may be more reserved and withdrawn.

5w6: The solver

A 5w6 takes on some traits of the 6s, which can make them more
concerned with their safety and security. This could manifest as
calmness and logic in a critical situation or staying away from
overly emotional or dramatic people who tend to drag them into
their conflicts.
Distribution of personality types
Over time, many theories have emerged about how the Enneagram works.
Like other personality tests (such as the MBTI) which show that some types
are more common than others, it is expected that similar results would be
obtained when applying the Enneagram to the general population.

However, there are also those who hypothesise that the nine Enneagram
types are evenly distributed among the general population. This would
imply that each type would represent 11.11% of the general population.
However, many studies find differences in the frequency of the nine

and all its wonders. The amount of interest they have in things reflects
how much effort they are willing to invest in understanding them.

They enjoy growing in their experiences and knowledge and the number of

Triads are a way of representing the affective core of one's personality,
which drives one's decision-making and style of functioning.

Types who are part of the Head Triad, also known as the thinking triad,
tend to be analytical, curious and knowledgeable. These characteristics
are what make them great tacticians who take their time to think and
process things through before taking action.

They are never reluctant to delve into new and interesting topics.
Abstract or complex content is not something that stops them in their
tracks; on the contrary, they may enjoy these experiences even more.

Type 5. The Investigator
For Type 5s, it tends to alienate them from others and favour being
intensely drawn towards being experts, growing in their knowledge and
discovering all there is to discover about their field of interest. Since
these capacities are finite, one has to filter what to "spend" your time on
and what should excite and interest you. For this type, other people can
be filtered.

The way in which fear moderates this type of behaviour - distancing

oneself from people - becomes more evident when they feel insignificant
to others. Intellectual, theoretical, abstract or complex ideas offer an
escape for this type, an escape from this fear of being trivial.

Researchers are often seen as intellectual or rational. When describing

them to others, what is usually mentioned is how knowledgeable,
objective and organised they are. For this reason, we usually think of
them as curious but reserved.

Asking a question about anything and arousing so much curiosity that it

can spread to others is how this type works. They can intensely tell a story
about any seemingly simple topic and include all the exciting details these
topics have to offer.

What goes hand in hand with their curiosity and openness to a wide range
of interests and topics is how good they are as critical thinkers. In other
words, they function in the opposite way to Type 1s, who generally pursue
the "black and white perspective" on things (note that they are exact
opposites in the circular arrangement of the Enneagrams).
Growth vs Stress.
Balance
The Enneagram upholds and propagates the belief that the
personality is not fixed and is dynamic rather than static.
Therefore, all of us have a base type, which is our
Enneagram type. This is influenced by our wing type as well.
However, our personality type goes beyond this as well. In
different situations, people tend to react differently.
Sometimes even in a way atypical of their usual selves.

Someone very calm may burst out in anger, and others might
think to themselves, 'That's very unusual for them. They
never react like that. This is where the concept of
Integration and Disintegration comes into play.

When we are in a healthy state (Growth), we tend to work

on our flaws and balance our personalities. At times like
these, we grow and change as people (not entirely, of
course). In the same way, we give in to our vices in times of
stress and may even act like the worst version of ourselves.

All this means that each personality type has specific ways in
which it acts in times of growth and in times of stress.

A type is not just an isolated or "whole" personality. Our

personality is the influence of each of these types, and the
goal of the Enneagram is to become a balanced and rounded
person. This means that we have our base type, influenced
by our wing and the influences we get from our integrating
and disintegrating types.
Growth (Integration)
When everything is in order and they have enough space to
develop their knowledge by pursuing their interests, they
achieve a harmony that produces many positive qualities
in their behaviour. Some of these include being more
secure in their own abilities, reliable and reassuring in
their confidence.

As things run smoothly, and nothing seems to threaten

their ability to improve and make themselves useful, this
type experiences growth.

They move towards their integration type - Type 8. Once

they are in this zone, some of the positive characteristics
of this integration type can be seen in their behaviour. In
particular, they become energetic and fun to be around. In
addition, they may show their broad interests to others,
which makes them appear inspiring and idealistic.

On the other hand, when something is blocking their
opportunity to grow and apply themselves, this type's
patience is challenged. What happens then is - they
usually end up giving in to some less positive habits. These
include patronising others, treating them as inferior, or
boasting about their own intellectual achievements.

As this rarely leads them to regain their confidence and

return to their vast interests, they move towards their
type of disintegration - Type 7. It is then that some of

then is being indifferent to others and their emotions.

El Eneagrama sostiene y propaga la creencia de que la
personalidad no está fija y es más dinámica que estática. Por
lo tanto, todos nosotros tenemos un tipo base, que es

nuestro tipo de ala también.

tiempos de estrés.
Un tipo no es solo una personalidad aislada o "completa".
Nuestra personalidad es la influencia de cada uno de estos

Cuando todo está en orden y tienen suficiente espacio para
