RESEARCH METHODS

A. Research Design

Theories about qualitative research can be drawn from various sources such as methodology books,
journal articles, and practical experiences. Qualitative research focuses on understanding social
phenomena from the participants' perspectives using methods that allow for in-depth exploration,
such as in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis.

B. Data and Data Source

The data collected includes interview transcripts, observation notes, and relevant documents. The
data sources are the research participants, observed situations, and documents obtained from
institutions or individuals.

C. Instrument of the Research

The main instrument of the research is the researcher, supported by observation, interviews, and
documentation as supplementary tools.

D. Technique of Collecting Data

Data collection techniques include watching films related to the research topic, downloading and
studying scripts or transcripts, conducting participant observation in relevant settings, carrying out
in-depth interviews with participants, coding the collected data, and categorizing the data based on
themes or specific categories.

E. Technique of Analyzing Data

Data analysis involves organizing the collected data, re-reading and understanding the entire
dataset, identifying themes or patterns, coding the data based on emerging themes, analyzing the
themes to discover relationships or conclusions, and presenting the findings in narrative or tabular
form.

F. Unit of Analysis

The unit of analysis in this research is specific behaviors, conversations, or social phenomena under
study, which can include interactions between individuals, participants' responses to interview
questions, or representations of specific themes in analyzed documents or films.
