- Post as a carousel - good way to recycle content (only first pic/vid needs to be new)
- Videos of your cutting

- Covers most other purposes

- Good for stories – swipe ups(if you have them)
- Mostly try to avoid posting (unless it is your page’s main purpose)
- Subtle advertising – merge products with another purpose
- TAGGING – get reposted

• Motivation/Inspiration/Positivity
• Great to help you reach a wide audience - everybody loves and needs some positive energy in
their life – but keep it organic - only share and post things you truly believe yourself

More so the perception of you educating – you wouldn’t cut hair for free so why educate for
free
Photos & videos of you teaching
- Story – share the whole thing (never include any of the real educational information)
- Post – recaps, summaries and memories of the day/event/trip
- Merge with other purposes - haircuts and inspiration/motivation/positivity

• Editorial
- Similar to haircuts however here the purpose is the image not just the cut
- Great if you’re looking to win competitions, get magazine features and get into the fashion
scene
- Would need to be a main focus/purpose throughout the year if this is your goal
- Posts
- Story
- Reels – merge with lifestyle, fashion & videography

• Cut, Style Shoot


- Similar to editorial however merged more with education & videography

• Videography
- Video content of you working on your other purposes
- Great content in showing you mean business in your other purposes
- This one is more of a tool to enhance the others
- I would advise not to make this your everyday/everyweek content – once every 2 weeks to once a
month would be ideal

Style/Fashion

Great way to show a bit of your personality & style
- Different to lifestyle but can easily be merged
- Great Story content - 1 story per day
- For posting purposes personally I would merge with either lifestyle or education – photos of
you in classes or in cool places wearing your best outfits
- Other than that I would avoid general fashion posts – fall into the sea of ‘influencers’ – key
to remember the goal is not to be an ‘influencer’ it is to be an inspiration

• Lifestyle
- Great as it can be merged with most other purposes but also creates great story & reel
content on its own
- Shows what they can experience if they pay attention to your other purposes
- One of the key focuses when inspiring people

• Vlogging/‘A day in the life of’


- Great if you have the time/resources
- Great youtube content
- Great tiktok content
- Great reels content
Which platforms? O.P Education
– which platforms does this apply to?

• Instagram
- The best and easiest platform to hit all of these focuses
- The best overall platform for our industry
- This training program is perfect for Instagram growth
- Instagram growth can aid and elevate the growth of other platforms

• Facebook
- Great to run simultaneously with Instagram
- Can be linked to your Instagram account – everything you share on Instagram
gets shared on facebook – takes away work load
- Personally I think facebook is great for clients – not as good for barbers
- Great for products
- Great for promoting experience/your barbershop
- Therefore the purposes of both will slightly differ – I personally keeo my own
Instagram separate from my barbershop facebook
- However our education Instagram is linked to our education facebook – because
the purposes are aligned
- Can be monetised

Great for BTS content

- Great for vlogging
- Great for education – just be careful about giving everything away for
free
- Can be monetized
- Great for showing more in depth content that the other platforms –
attracts your follwers from other platforms to subscribe – in turn boosts
your exposure

• Tiktok
- Great for reaching a wider and newer audience
- Great. For BTS content
- Great for inspiration/motivation/positivity, lifestyle, education and
vlogging
- Great if you want to run different purposes on different platforms
- Great for creating reel content – doing two jobs at once
- Can be moneitsed

To grow you need to have a community behind you and to build a community
you need to communicate.
- Building up a following on any platform will only increase your chances of
boosting your following on the other platforms. The more exposure the
better.

Likes & Comments

• Dedicate 1 hour each morning (you don’t even have to get out of bed for this) to
follow, liking & commenting on posts
• A combination of people you admire, people you find interesting and people you
want to get to know/be around
• DO NOT SPAM – an excessive spam of likes and comments does not get attention in a
good way – looks too desperate
• Just 2-3 likes per profile
• 1 comment per profile
• Subconsciously you will become a recognized name before you actually become a
recognized name
Messages

• Similar to likes & comments
• Dedicate that same hour in the morning to sending messages out to people you
admire and want to get to know.

• Dedicate a separate hour each evening to reach out to more people and reply to any
messages and comments you received during the day!
• One big tip when trying to build your following and reputation – reach out to
people who comment on your work showing love – messaging them is way more
personal than just liking or replying to the comment (of course there will come a
time where you just don’t have the time to reply to everyone but whilst you’re
trying to begin your growth this is key)
• That hour in the evening is the most important of the day
Posts

• On any posting day set aside 30-45 minutes prior to your scheduled posting time to
prepare your post
• If you know you will be busy around your scheduled posting time then I strongly
advise you to do this earlier in the day or the day before
• Prepare your caption
• Gives you time to prepare your image(s) or video(s)
• Your hashtags should already be saved in your notes ready to copy and paste
• Always double check how your post will look on people’s feeds/search pages etc
by saving it in drafts and looking
Stories

• 1 should include you, your face or your outfit
• 1 should be interactive
• 1or more should show what you’re doing (no limit to
the amount of these you can post as long as its
relevant to your purpose)
• 1 should be building/promoting the perception you
want to create
• 1 should be promoting what you’re already known
for

• Reply and react to other peoples stories throughout

Reels

• Reels (and tiktok) are like passive income - they are passive exposure
• They continue to gain exposure long after they are posted
• Great reach – good for gaining followers
• Prepare your reel and post on tiktok – then recycle to Instagram –or just prepare
on Instagram
• Take 30-45 minutes to prepare prior to posting
• Do not save to feed (just post as a reel only) - Unless the thumbnail suits your
Instagram feed image
• Doesn’t effect your aesthetic but gains you exposure
