As the student you are required to:
• Students must successfully be observed and complete the Four (4) practical tasks (job cards) which MUST be on
THREE (3) different vehicles in a simulated work environment. Students are to complete Part B to D.
• Unless otherwise noted Students must wear and use all appropriate PPE at all times.
• Students need to source all of the tools, equipment, technical information and ADRs required.
• Students are to talk to their lecturer if they have any questions related to completing these tasks.
• Job card must be accurately completed using appropriate/good grammar and legible handwriting.
• The practical task is NOT completed until a final inspection is completed by the lecturer to ensure the work is to
industry standards. Students are to plan their own work requirements and prioritise their actions to achieve the
required outcome and ensure the tasks are completed within workplace timeframes.
• Students must leave the work area clean and return all equipment to the store or as directed at the end of the practical
tasks.
• See below for more details regarding the practical assessment checklist for this unit.
• If you are deemed Unsatisfactory you will be given a second attempt. The student is to discuss with the lecturer
on a date and time.
• Adjustments to assessments may be made for you, providing the adjustments comply with set principles of
assessment and rules of evidence If you require support for literacy and numeracy issues; support for hearing,
sight or mobility issues; change to assessment times/venues; use of special or adaptive technology;
considerations relating to age, gender & cultural beliefs; the format of assessment materials; or presence of a
scribe you need to inform your lecturer. Necessary adjustments can be discussed with the trainer before the

Assessor Instructions: Students are to demonstrate all of the following skills during both practical tasks in a
simulated environment. If any skills are NOT demonstrated the student will be required to reattempt the practical task
again at a time to be negotiated.
Mark a tick () for a yes the student has demonstrated the task successfully, or a cross (x) if the student was unable
to complete the task or did not demonstrate the task. If a cross (x) is given the Assessor is to identify to the student
any dot points considered to be not yet satisfactory and provide feedback in the allocated area.
The assessor will only sign off each practical when the student has performed all of the identified skills to a
satisfactory level. On either the first or second attempt.
