A Mother’s Love

English
Materials:
Yarn: light weight (3) yarn suitable for amigurumi and a size 2mm crochet hook in:

• Broken white: 80-95m/ 90-105yd


• Dark brown: 15-20m/ 15-25yd
• Red: 30-40m/ 35-45yd
• Skin color: 30-40m/ 35-45yd
• White: 35-45m/ 40-50yd
Crochet hook: size 2mm
Stuffing – tapestry needle – scissors – pencil – stitch
markers – glue – glue gun – sewing pins
White sewing thread and needle
Cardboard: 3mm thick
Beads wire: 2mm diameter – white
Plastic rhinestone: white – 10mm diameter – 2 pcs

The color of yarn you are to use for your row is mentioned at the end of the
row. When nothing is mentioned, use the same color as the previous row.

Work only in the front or back loops when this is mentioned. When nothing is
mentioned, work in both loops.

The “ch1” in “ch1 and turn” does NOT count as a stitch. The same goes for the
“ch2” in “ch2 and turn”

Abbreviations:
• Ch(s): chain(s)
• Sl st: slip stitch
• Sc: single crochet
• Hdc: half double crochet
• Dc: double crochet
• Inc: increase = make 2 single crochet in the same stitch
• Dec: decrease = single crochet 2 stitches together
• Hdc inc: half double crochet increase = make 2 half double crochet in the same stitch

Important information:
Examples:

Row 1: 6sc in a magic ring with skin color
Row 2: inc in every stitch (12)
Row 3: *1sc, inc* repeat till the end (18)
Row 4: *1sc, inc, 1sc* repeat till the end (24)
Row 5: *3sc, inc* repeat till the end (30)
Row 6-11: 1sc in every stitch (30)

• Make the bottom of the doll now:

• Make 1 sl st in the first stitch


• Yarn off but leave a long tail
• Sew the last row of the bottom piece to row 40 of the doll
and add more stuffing in this is necessary.

• Yarn off but leave a tail


• Make the second arm the same way
• Attach the arms to the shoulders

Collar:
Row 1: ch26 with white
Row 2: start in the second ch from the hook: *2sc, inc, 2sc* repeat till the end, ch1 and turn

• Attach the collar according to the pictures on the next page
• Sew beads wire along the collar edge (highlighted with orange in the 4th picture)

• Make 1 sl st in the first stitch


• Yarn off but leave a long tail

• Glue or sew the hair on the head but do not cut the yarn end
• Cut 25 dark brown strands of 20cm/7.8” long
• Use the yarn end to sew the hair strands per 5 on the head in front of the hair piece
• I did not style the hair till the very end of the pattern. You can do it now but then you
risk getting the hair all messed up again before you’re done

• Yarn off but leave a very long tail


• Pictures of the following steps are below the last step and on the next page
• Glue or sew the hair on the head
• Wrap the very long tail of the hair around the head in front of the hair piece ( )and
sew in place center front, center back and in the middle on both sides of the head

Braid:

• Cut 6 dark brown strands of 15cm/6” long


• Use them to make a braid according to the pictures below
• Attach the braid to the back of head

Frame:

• Reattach the yarn to a front loop of row 18
• Do the following in the front loops of row 18

end

Row 3: ch2 (this one does NOT count as a stitch), *10dc in the chain space( ), 1sc in the

• Put front and back panels aside for later

Platform part A:

Roses (make 10):

the end

• Yarn off but leave a long tail


• Make 9 more roses like this
• Pictures of the following steps are below and on the
next page. I made a pink rose as an example instead of
a red one so that it would be more clearly what you
need to do.
• Roll up each rose and secure the roll with a couple of stitches
on the bottom of the roll ( )
• Glue the roses in place
• Glue a plastic rhinestone on the hair of the daughter ( ) and 1 on the magic ring of the
B part of the frame ( )
• Sew beads wire along the edge of the frame ( ) ( highlighted with orange in the last picture)
