WARNING — PERSONAL INJURY AND/OR EQUIPMENT DAMAGE HAZARD: Read and understand all instructions presented in this document before using the Anesthesia Armboard Assembly. Follow each step in the order presented In these instructions. If you need technical assistance or additional instructions, call STERIS. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE Anesthesia Armboard Assembly (12/06/19) P150830-958 The Anesthesia Armboard Assembly (FIGURE 1) is an accessory designed for the following surgical tables*: ‘+ Amsco” 3080 and Amsco® 3080-R, © Amsco® 3085 SP and Amsco® 3085 SP ConverTable Bariatric STERIS 4085 General STERIS 5085 and STERIS 5085-SRT © Cmaxe “Also compatioe with SurgiGraphic tables with use of Stanclard Sie Rail Adaptors (TA000 12) The radiolucent carbon fiber armboard is easily attached/removed from the surgical table side rail and is easy to clean. Components are enclosed within a molded body, protecting against denting, breakage and damage when dropped. Anesthesia Armboard Assembly is equipped with two 30 x 2-inch aim restraint straps, NOTE: Maximum patient weight capacity is 500 Ib (227 kg). ‘The Anesthesia Atmboard Assembly product numbers: ‘* BF431 - Anesthesia Armboard without pad F448 - Anesthesia Armboard with 1" pad F803 - Anesthesia Armboard with 2" pad BF804 - Anesthesia Armboard with 3" pad ‘Arm Restraint Straps ad Not Shown Figure 1. Indications For Use Installation WARNING - PERSONAL INJURY AND/OR EQUIPMENT DAMAGE HAZARD: * Do not use equipment if worn, damaged or cannot be securely tightened, Cracked or splintered surfaces may cause injury. Inspect armboard prior to use. Damaged ‘armboard must be replaced. Read and understand all instructions prior to use. It technical assistance or additional instructions are needed, call STERIS. + To prevent armboard or table damage, ensure armboard is not installed ‘or moved parallel to table side rails. This orientation results in damage to armboard and/or table during table articulations. As with any unfamiliar patient positioning device, always read the operating instructions and practice on a nurse, physician or other ‘appropriate volunteer prior to patient use. + To prevent patient or ‘operator injury, ensure correct attachment to table and verify clamp locking block is engaged. + Hyperextending patient’s ‘arm beyond 90° may ‘cause nerve damage. Consult with anesthesiologist regarding sate positioning for each patient. The Anesthesia Armboard Assembly is an attachable accessory for STERIS. Surgical Tables (see BEFORE USING ANESTHESIA AAMBOARD ASSEMBLY) designed to support a patient's arm and maintain the same level with the surgical table top. Manual articulation allows operator to abduct end adduct, the arm as needed. The accessory is intended for mounting on the sido rail of @ surgical table only. Serious incidents that have occurred in relation to this medical device should be reported to the manufacturer and competent authority in the country where the incident occurred. Install Anesthesia Armboard Assembly to surgical tables as follows: 1. Position armboard locking block against side rail and mount armboard to table by pressing down to actuate lock (see FIGURE 2) 2. Slightly lift armboard, slide it along side rail to desired position 3. Carefully position patient's arm on armboard. 4, Pull trigger at end of armboard (on bottom) and rotate armboard and patient's arm to desired degree of abduction or adduction. 5. Use provided arm straps (see FiGuRE 1) and secure patient's arm in place on armboard. Tigger Assembly Locking Gravity Lath Figure 2. Armboard Gravity Latch and Unlock Trigger Cleaning A WARNING - INFECTION HAZARD: To protect against aerosols being reflected from potentially contaminated surfaces, ‘wear rubber or plastic gloves, masks and eye protection, and follow OSHA blood-borne pathogens standards when cleaning. WARNING ~ PERSONAL INJURY HAZARD: When cleaning/disinfecting Anesthesia Armboard Assembly, do not use phenolics, which may cause Patient skin burns if inadequately rinsed off, or alcohol, which does not have sufficient cleaning/ disinfection properties. CAUTION - POSSIBLE EQUIPMENT DAMAGE: * When cleaning/ disinfecting Anesthesia Armboard Assembly, thoroughly read the cleaning fluid directions for use and follow all directions and cautions as shown. * After performing cleaning procedures, ensure parts are completely dry before returning to service. Remove Anesthesia Armboard Assembly from surgical tables as follows: 1. Remove safety straps from patient's arm. Place patient's arm in a safe position, Release locking gravity latch (see FIGURE 2) to unlock armboard, Litt armboard straight up and pull out to remove from side ral Clean and inspect armboard before placing in storage or preparing for next procedure. NOTE: The user must follow the requirements of the national committee responsible for hygiene and disinfection when cleaning the Anesthesia Armboard Assembly. Disinfectants can be used in spray or wipe applications. Enzymatic cleaners should be applied with a disposable cloth ‘and not sprayed (and thoroughly rinsed with clean, damp, lint-free cloth to remove residue). When using disinfectants and enzymatics, follow all ‘manufacturer's label recommendations. seep General Clean the Anesthesia Armboard Assembly following facility protocols, AAMIVAORN Guidelines and procedures listed in this section. Use the following materials to perform the cleaning procedures: ‘+ Several clean, dry lint-free cloths. * Container of clean water. ‘* Cleaning products (neutral pH detergent or enzymatic) When using disinfectants and enzymatics, follow all manufacturer's labe! recommendations, After Each Usage After each use of the Anesthesia Armboard Assembly, cleanidisinfect as follows NOTE: For pads, refer to STERIS Cleaning Instructions publication (P'150880-913). 1, Remove pad and clean per STERIS instructions (P150830-913). 2. Remove gross soil with a disposable cloth and place used cloth in an appropriate bichazardous waste disposal container. 3. Clean Anesthesia Armmboard Assembly as follows: 2. Hold spray bottle or can 6-8" (152-203 mm) from surface and spray cleaning fluid liberally on top, bottom and sides of parts or use enzymatic solution and disposable wipes. (Recommended to clean only one part at a time.) Rub using @ brush NOTE: Do not use any oxidizing products with chlorie derivative base such as bleach, or oxygenic derivatives such as peracetic acid on the Anesthesia Armboard Assembly. Let disinfectant cleaner treated surfaces set for 10 minutes, Wipe surfaces with a clean, lint-free cloth dampened with water to remove cleaning fluid (dampening cloth minimizes streaking), 4. Wipe cleaned surfaces again with clean, damp, lint-free cloth to remove residue. 4. Ensure Anesthesia Armboard Assembly is completely dry before reinstaling to prevent damage.
