LIGHT AFTER DARK

Unspoken

Words unspoken, unsaid, were misunderstood,

Eyes have spoken, as only they could.
Some on the tip of tongue, some held in the gaze,
Stories of my fragile heart lost in the maze.

My heart would say, 'I'll see him soon,'

But when I saw, I couldn't attune.
Some left shaking, some did restlessly pine,
The desires of this distressed heart did confine.

Nothing was said, yet all was conveyed,

In the midst of the chaos, some words stayed.

Quietude

In the quietude of my own company,

I seek a solace found in none but me.
The world's cacophony, I wish to flee,
To distant shores, where I can just be free.

The ties that bind, I long to now unlace,

To find my peace in a secluded place.
A town afar, where no familiar face
Can mirror back my life's relentless pace.

Heart’s Muscle Memory

Feelings have memory, they linger in the heart.

They shape our expectations, right from the start.
Some memories are painful, some are full of joy.
Some are like a burden, some are like a toy.

We carry them with us, wherever we may go.

We use them as a shield, or as a way to grow.
But sometimes we get stuck, in a cycle of regret.
We can't let go of the past, we can't forgive or forget.

There is a way to break free, from this prison of the mind.

There is a way to heal, and leave the pain behind.
We need to find the one thing that matters most to us.
We need to focus on the core that makes us who we are.

It could be a person, a thing, or an entity.

It could be a passion, a dream, or a belief.
Whatever it may be, we need to hold it tight.
We need to make it our center, our source of light.

By doing so, we can find, a new perspective on life.

We can see the beauty, and not just the strife.
We can embrace the present, and not fear the future.
We can love ourselves, and others, with a heart that's pure.

Life’s Full Spectrum

Happiness isn't always near,

Sadness visits, that's clear.
Frustration and failures, they arise,
In life's journey, they comprise.

Happiness is the default position, a myth I say,

Ups and downs follow day by day.
For happiness to bloom, it needs strife,
For joy to shine, we embrace life.

In challenges faced, strength will grow,

And wisdom from failures will start to show.
Sadness and frustration, they teach and heal,
Shaping our souls, making us real.

So let's not fear the moments of gloom,

They're threads in life's intricate loom.
For amidst the darkness, joy can ignite,
And from adversity, we'll find our light.

Deception
Not mad you rejected my presence,
Mad you pretended to seek my essence.
You led me astray, ignited my desire,
Only to depart, fuelling my ire.

You led me astray with your pretence of affection,

Crafted an illusion that fooled my longing heart.
A tender web you spun, with delicate words and gestures,
But vanished abruptly, as if it held no consequence.

Oh, the audacity to play with love's fragile thread,

To make me believe in a tale that swiftly unravelled.
It's not the absence of your desire that stings,
But the callous way you chose to sever our strings.

It's not your rejection that stings my core,

But the false promises I was made to adore.
You played with my emotions, cast a deceptive spell,
And departed as if it were all mere shell.

I'm not mad that you didn't want me,

But infuriated by your deceptive decree.
You made me fall, then swiftly withdrew,
Leaving me to grapple with a love untrue.
So, don't mistake my anger for bitter envy,
For I harbour no grudge, no ire.
It's the deceit that vexes, oh so heavy,
Leaving me wounded by your desire.

I'll heal the wounds, let go of the ache,

But remember, your actions were unkind.
False hopes you planted, heartbreakingly fake,
Yet I'll move on, leaving you behind.
