FRONT ENTRANCE

Jamie is running late to his train back home to Mamaroneck to

celebrate his nephew’s birthday. He is about to open one of
the front entrance door’s to Grand Central when Alicia (Uh ie
See Uh), also on her way back home to Mamaroneck… starts to
go for the same door handle. They’re hands touch, with Jamie
grabbing a moment too late, touching Alicia on the hand. They
lock eyes on accident.

JAMIE
Oops, sorry! Didn’t mean for that
to-

ALICIA
But didn’t you?
(pause)
Sorry, I’m a little on edge today.

She opens the door for Jamie.

ALICIA
After you, monsieur.

Jamie is charmed by her.

JAMIE
Why thank you, madam.

They both enter the building.

JAMIE
You running late too?

ALICIA
Hahahaha, no. Just feeling like I
gotta hurry or something bad will
happen! Gottawatchmyback

JAMIE
I wish I could be that way!

ALICIA
(very stern)
NO. You don’t.

Beat.

ALICIA
You headed somewhere exotic?

JAMIE

ALICIA
Island time.

JAMIE
We are technically on an island
right now.

ALICIA
Don’t remind meeee

Alicia starts biting her nails.

JAMIE
Sorry, you just brought it up.

Alicia grips Jamie’s arm. She’s serious.

ALICIA
If you tell anyone about anything
I will ever say to you, I will
tell your family you lied about
being on the way when in fact you
had to talk a car here just to
hope to make the next train to
Mamaroneck.

Jamie is bewildered.

JAMIE
How did you-

ALICIA
Your ticket is pulled up on your
phone. And I know a rushing gay
millennial when I see one.
Finasteride treating ya well?

JAMIE
Okay lady, I’ve gotta get going.

Jamie heads offstage.

ALICIA
(yelling as he’s leaving)

(to herself)

She pulls a superhero mask down onto her face. Lights.
