GRADE: 2

CONTENT STANDARD:
 Demonstrates understanding of the concepts of nouns, verbs and adjectives for proper
identification and description

PERFORMANCE STANDARD:
 Properly identifies and describes people, animals, places, things and uses them in a
variety of oral and written theme-based activities

LEARNING COMPETENCIES:
 Recognizes names people, objects, things, and places (e. g. names of animals, fruits,
objects in songs, stories, poems, nursery rhymes, pictures, realia, and other ICT-based
materials)

I. OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:
a. Identify nouns as words that name a person, place, thing, or animal;
b. Correctly point out objects around the classroom and name them as nouns; and
c. Consistently demonstrate a positive attitude towards learning and using nouns
in their everyday.

Activity (Cognitive)
- “Worksheet”
Provide a worksheet with pictures of people, places, things, and animals. Ask the
students to write the name of each picture.

Application (Psychomotor)
- “Point and Name”
Ask the students to look around the classroom, point an object, and name them. For
example, “This is a chair”, “That is a window”.

Assignment (Affective)
- “Noun Journal”
Ask the students to keep a daily journal where they write down three new nouns they
learned each day and use them in a sentences. Periodically, let them share their
favorite entries with the class to reinforce the positive habit.
