Scholarship Guidelines
• The Kalam - Pai, Freeship & Scholars Scholarship seats taken together, is limited to 5 % of the General category intake,
and the total scholarship seats program-wise & campus-wise is as follows

Kalam – Pai Scholarship

• One (1) scholarship of the 5 %, for MBBS & BDS, is for the Kalam - Pai Scholarship, as follows

• Minimum Eligibility Requirements

o 80 % aggregate of Physics + Chemistry + Biology (as per eligibility criteria) in 10+2 from a recognised board
• This scholarship involves 100 % waiver of Course fee and Hostel fee.
o However, Candidates are required to pay the full first year course fee including Refundable Caution Deposit of
Rs. 10,000 at the time of Reporting / completing the Admission formalities.
o The Kalam – Pai scholar will have to accept the Hostel allocation (Double attached non-AC) by MAHE Manipal.
In case the Kalam – Pai scholar opts for upgradation of hostel (if available), he / she is required to pay the
differential hostel fee.
o The Kalam – Pai scholar MUST take care of other expenses like food, books and other academic material
requirements.
• Rs. 5,000 per month will be given to the Kalam – Pai scholar as sustenance stipend, at the end of each month, for the
entire regular duration of the program on campus (excluding the internship period).
• The scholarship will be offered to the candidate with topmost NEET All India Rank meeting the above-mentioned
criteria, who complete the Reporting & Admission formalities in the first round of DGHS / MCC Counseling
o In case of Upgradation / Resignation by this Candidate (as per MCC Guidelines), this scholarship will be awarded
to the round 1 admitted candidate with next best rank (meeting the above-mentioned criteria) in the same
Institution
o In case of scholarship vacancy after considering the admitted student of round 1, scholarship will be awarded
to the candidate based on NEET All India Rank, after completion of all rounds of counselling.
o Candidates admitted through Government category (KEA Counseling, JCECEB Counseling) are NOT eligible for
this scholarship

• After due verification, the list of students eligible for Kalam - Pai scholarship will be finalised within 1 month after the
completion of all rounds of Counseling.
• The excess fee paid (after applying the scholarship) shall be refunded within 2 months of completion of all rounds of
Counseling, only on submission of duly filled MAHE Scholarship Application Form 2024 to the MAHE Manipal Admissions
office. However, Rs. 10,000 would be retained as minimum fee payable in addition to the refundable caution deposit.
o Kalam - Pai scholars are required to pay minimum Rs. 10,000 towards the Course fee every year, for the
subsequent years.
• The award of scholarship for the subsequent years will be same, as given at the time of admission in the first year.
• Continuation of scholarship for subsequent years, will be based on academic performance of the student in the
University examinations preceding the due date for payment of fee / dues i.e. Minimum cumulative aggregate of 65 %
marks in a system of awarding marks
o Students, who are promoted to next year with less than 65 % aggregate marks, are NOT eligible for scholarship
and MUST pay the full Course Fee applicable for that academic year
o Students, who are promoted to next year with failures (F) / Incomplete (I) / Detention (DT) grades, are NOT
eligible for scholarship and MUST pay the full Course Fee applicable for that academic year
o Scholarship will be forfeited in the instances of irregularity in attendance, proven charges of indiscipline,
bringing disrepute to the Department / Institution / University etc.
• As the Institute / University does NOT have the provision to fill the vacant seat after the last date applicable for
resignation as per DGHS / MCC timeline, if the Kalam - Pai scholar resigns / withdraws from the course, he / she MUST
reimburse the total Course fee (all fee instalments) applicable for entire duration as per Prospectus 2024 + Hostel fee
+ Sustenance stipend, received for the years of scholarship utilized, back to MAHE Manipal, before leaving the program
Freeship
• The Freeship involves 100 % waiver of the course fee payable
o However, Candidates are required to pay the full first year course fee including refundable Caution Deposit of
Rs. 10,000 at the time of Reporting / completing the Admission formalities.
o The Freeship scholar MUST take care of other expenses like accommodation, food, books and other academic
material requirements.
• Scholarships will be offered to the candidate(s) with topmost NEET All India Rank who completes the Reporting &
Admission formalities in the first round of DGHS / MCC Counseling.
o In case of Upgradation / Resignation by the Candidate(s) as per the MCC guidelines, the scholarship will be
awarded to the round 1 admitted candidate with next best rank (meeting the above-mentioned criteria) in the
same Institution.
o In case of scholarship(s) vacancy after considering the admitted students of round 1, scholarship(s) will be
awarded to the candidate(s) based on NEET All India Rank after completion of all rounds of counselling.
o Candidates admitted through Government category (KEA, JCECEB) counseling are NOT eligible for this
scholarship
• After due verification, the list of students eligible for Freeship will be finalised within 1 month after the completion of
all rounds of Counseling.
• The excess fee paid (after applying the scholarship) shall be refunded within 2 months on completion of all rounds of
office. However, Rs. 10,000 would be retained as minimum fee payable in addition to the refundable caution deposit.

o However, Candidates are required to pay the full first year course fee + Rs. 10,000 Refundable Caution Deposit,
at the time of reporting / completing the admission formalities.
o The Scholar MUST take care of other expenses like accommodation, food, books and other academic material
requirements.
o In case of Upgradation / Resignation by the Scholar Candidate(s) as per MCC Guidelines, the scholarship will
be awarded to the round 1 admitted candidate with next best rank (meeting the above-mentioned criteria) in
the same Institution.

of Counseling, only on submission of duly filled MAHE Scholarship Application Form 2024 to the MAHE Manipal
Admissions office.
• The award of scholarship for the subsequent years will be the same as given, at the time of admission in the first year.
• Scholarship will be extended for the subsequent year only to those students who qualifies in the year-end examinations
as per NMC (erstwhile MCI) / DCI guidelines
o Scholarship will be forfeited in the instances of irregularity in attendance, proven charges of indiscipline, bringing
disrepute to the Department / Institution / University etc
• In case the candidate leaves the course before the course completion (for any reason), he / she MUST reimburse the
total course fee (as per Prospectus 2024), back to MAHE Manipal before leaving the program

3. HBSF-MAHE EduEmpower Scholarship for BTech students of MIT Manipal
This scholarship is to support meritorious students from less economically privileged sections of the Society to
enable them to pursue BTech program at MIT Manipal
• Applicable for Students admitted under GENERAL category only
• The Quantum of Scholarship Support (QSS) is 3 Crores for the Year-1 students taking admission in
Academic Year 2024-25.
• This scholarship involves 100 % waiver of Course fee, Hostel fee & Mess Charges.
o 85 % aggregate of Mathematics + Physics + Optional subject (as per selection criteria) in 10+2
from the recognised Board
▪ Previous Academic Record:
• Only the Candidates who have studied Std. 8 – 12 (Full 5 years of schooling) in
any State / Central Government School / PU Colleges within India are only
eligible. The students who studied in Government Aided / Unaided schools /
Private Schools are NOT eligible
• All India Ranking in the Manipal Entrance Test should be between 1 – 10,000
• Family Means/Income: The family (Father + Mother) Gross income should be less than Rs. 8 lakhs for the
Financial Year 2023-2024.
• Top 50 students (approximate) meeting the above-mentioned criteria are eligible for this scholarship.
• The Candidates MUST participate in BTech Common Counseling process by paying Rs. 10,000 as waitlist
deposit
• List of documents required
o Copy of Student’s mark sheet of 10th standard
o Study Certificate issued by the Govt school to demonstrate that the Candidate has studied his/her
8th, 9th and 10th standards in the Government Schools
o Study Certificate issued by the Govt PU college to demonstrate that the Candidate has studied
his/her 11th and 12th standards in the Government Schools
o Copy of Mark sheet of class 12 Science (Physics + Mathematics + Optional paper) proving he/she
has scored a minimum of 85% marks in the above-mentioned subjects
o IT Returns Acknowledgement and Detailed Statement of Income of Father and Mother for the
Financial Year 2023-24
HBSF-MAHE EduEmpower Scholarship

• This scholarship involves 100 % waiver of Course fee, Hostel fee & Mess Charges.
• The HBSF-MAHE scholar will have to accept the Hostel allocation (Double attached non-AC) by MAHE
Manipal.
• Candidates admitted under this category will have to take care of other expenses such as books and other
academic material requirements etc.
• The Scholarships seats will be allotted to the candidates with topmost MET rank meeting the above-
mentioned criteria in the first round BTech common Counseling.
• In case of scholarship vacancy after considering the admitted student of round 1, scholarship will be
allotted to the candidates based on MET rank meeting the above-mentioned criteria in subsequent
rounds of Counseling.
o In case of non-joining / withdrawal during subsequent rounds, scholarship will be awarded as per
merit (MET rank) who is meeting the above-mentioned criteria.
• After due verification, the list of students eligible for HBSF-MAHE scholarship will be finalized and MAHE
Admissions Office will email the MAHE Scholarship Application Form 2024 to the eligible candidates.
• The excess fee paid (Rs.10,000) shall be refunded by within 2 months of class commencement, only on
submission of duly filled Scholarship Application Form 2024 to the MAHE Manipal Admissions office.

• The award of scholarship for the subsequent years will be same, as awarded during year 1.
• Continuation of HBSF-MAHE scholarship for subsequent years, will be based on academic performance
of the students at the University examinations preceding the due date for payment of fee / dues i.e.
Minimum CGPA of 8 in a 10-point grading system
o HBSF-MAHE scholars, who are promoted to next year with less than 8 CGPA, are NOT eligible for
scholarship and MUST pay the full Course Fee applicable for that academic year
o HBSF-MAHE scholars, who are promoted to next year with failures (F) / Incomplete (I) / Detention
(DT) grades, are NOT eligible for scholarship and MUST pay the full Course Fee applicable for that
academic year
o Scholarships will be forfeited in the instances of irregularity in attendance, proven charges of
indiscipline, bringing disrepute to the Department / Institution / University etc
In case the HBSF-MAHE scholar leaves the course before the course completion (for any reason), he / she MUST
reimburse the full Course fee (as per Prospectus 2024) for the years of scholarship utilized, back to MAHE Manipal.

4. FREESHIP, SCHOLAR and ACHIEVER Scholarships for B.Tech

MAHE Manipal offers Freeship, Scholar and Achiever scholarship to meritorious students admitted to the Bachelor of Technology
(B.Tech) program at
• Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) Manipal
• Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) Bengaluru
o 80 % aggregate of Mathematics + Physics + Optional subject (as per selection criteria) in 10+2 from the
recognised Board
• Minimum 8 CGPA & above, with no backlogs in Semester 1 of BTech program. Merit list will be prepared after the
declaration of re-evaluation results of regular end semester examination.
• Freeship & Scholar category Scholarships put together, constitutes 5 % of the GENERAL category intake for each branch
and is applicable for the entire program duration, starting 1st year of the program.

MET Rank Range 1 – 100 101 – 5,000
• Achiever category Scholarship constitutes 5 % of the general category intake for each branch and is applicable at the
beginning of 2nd year, 3rd year and 4th year based on the annual academic performance of the immediate previous year
i.e. 1st year, 2nd year and 3rd year.
o There will be NO scholarship based on the performance in the final year.

Freeship
• The Freeship scholarship involves 100 % of the Course fee payable
o Candidates are required to pay the full first year course fee including Refundable Caution Deposit of Rs. 10,000
at the time of seat allotment / before the deadline specified for payment of full first year fee.
o Candidates admitted under Freeship category will have to take care of other expenses such as hostel
accommodation, food, books etc.
• Scholarships will be offered to the candidate with topmost MET rank in the respective branch who complete the
admission formalities in the first round BTech common Counseling
o In case of withdrawal / upgradation during subsequent rounds, scholarship will be awarded as per merit (MET
rank) to Round 1 admitted candidates (same branch / upgraded from other branch) in the same Institution and
as per scholarship vacancy after completion of all rounds of counselling (Except Spot Admission).
▪ In case of scholarship vacancy after considering the admitted students of Round 1 (same branch /
upgraded from other branch) in the same Institution, this scholarship(s) will be awarded to the
candidate(s) based on MET rank after completion of all rounds of counselling.
o The candidates opting for only waitlisting during 1st round of Counseling are NOT eligible for these scholarships.
• After due verification, the list of students eligible for Freeship scholarship will be finalized and MAHE Admissions Office
will email the MAHE Scholarship Application Form 2024 to the eligible candidates.
• The excess fee paid (after applying the scholarship) shall be refunded within 1 month of commencement of 2 nd
semester, only on submission of duly filled Scholarship Application Form 2024 to the MAHE Manipal Admissions office
and only to those students who are able to score Minimum 8 CGPA & above, with no backlogs in Semester 1 of BTech
program
• However, Rs. 10,000 would be retained as minimum fee payable in addition to the refundable caution deposit.
o Freeship scholars are required to pay minimum Rs. 10,000 towards the Course fee every year, for the
subsequent years.
University examinations preceding the due date for payment of fee / dues i.e. Minimum CGPA of 8 in a 10-point grading
system
o Freeship scholars, who are promoted to next year with less than 8 CGPA, are NOT eligible for scholarship and
MUST pay the full Course Fee applicable for that academic year
o Freeship scholars, who are promoted to next year with failures (F) / Incomplete (I) / Detention (DT) grades,
are NOT eligible for scholarship and MUST pay the full Course Fee applicable for that academic year
• In case the Freeship scholar leaves the course before the course completion (for any reason), he / she MUST reimburse

academic performance of the immediate previous year i.e. 1st year, 2nd year and 3rd year respectively
o Transfer students are NOT eligible for this scholarship in the year of admission. Based on performance, they

12. Scholarships for Academy of General Education Students (SAGES)

MAHE Manipal awards Merit scholarships for students admitted to B.Sc. Nursing program offered by Manipal College of Nursing

• Scholarships will be offered to the 15 candidates with topmost MET rank who complete the Admission formalities in
the first round of Admission process
o 80 % in Physics + Chemistry + Biology taken together, in 12th from a recognised Board
• The scholarship involves 50 % waiver of the Course fee
o The Candidates admitted under this category will have to take care of other expenses such as hostel
• Scholarships will be offered to the 15 candidates with topmost MET rank who complete the Admission formalities in
the first round of Admission process
o After due verification, the list of students eligible for the scholarship will be finalized and MAHE Admissions
Office will email the MAHE Scholarship Application Form 2024 to the eligible candidates.
o The excess fee paid (after applying the scholarship) shall be refunded by within 2 months of class

MAHE Manipal awards Merit scholarships for students admitted under GENERAL category to PB B.Sc. Nursing program offered by
Manipal College of Nursing (MCON) Manipal
• Scholarship will be offered to students passed out from Manipal School of Nursing only
o First rank holder in the batch of preceding academic year of admission will be provided 50% wavier of the course fee
o Subsequent four rank holders/toppers in the batch of preceding academic year of admission will be provided 25% wavier of
the course fee
o Candidates are required to pay the full first year course fee including refundable Caution Deposit of Rs. 10,000 before the
deadline specified for payment of full first year fee.
o The Candidates admitted under this category will have to take care of other expenses such as hostel accommodation, food,

Manipal Foundation and MAHE Manipal awards Manipal Foundation - MAHE Scholarships to students who have undergone the
Scholar Program supported by Manipal Foundation and admitted in the following programs
• UG Allied Health Sciences
• B.Sc.Nursing
• DPharm
• BPharm
• This scholarship is open to students from all PU colleges other than those founded/supported /managed by The
Academy of General Education (AGE) Manipal / Dr. TMA Pai Foundation institutions
• Those students who have attended the full 2 years (11th and 12 grade) “Scholar program” rendered by Manipal
Foundation through its partners
• Top 25 students in the Karnataka PU Boards examinations based on the Selection criteria i.e. (Physics + Chemistry +
Biology) are eligible for this scholarship
• The students who wish to avail the scholarship must apply under the GENERAL category
• Admission will be done as per the admission criteria mentioned for the respective program by MAHE. There are NO

MAHE Manipal awards Merit scholarships for students admitted to Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) programs offered by
Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) Manipal, under the Lateral Entry scheme, from the following institutions
• Dr. TMA Pai Polytechnic, Manipal (under Dr. TMA Pai Foundation)
• SNM Polytechnic, Moodabidri (under Academy of General Education)
o Candidates MUST have studied & completed their 3 years (6 semesters) of Diploma in Engineering from the
above institutions with min. 60 % aggregate marks
• Merit Scholarship is applicable for the entire program duration, starting 2nd year of the program ie; year of admission
• Bonafide Certificate mentioning the period of study (ALL 3 years / 6 semesters) issued by the College / Institute should

21. Scholarship for Konkani Speaking Students

MAHE Manipal awards 10 % fee waiver of course fee as scholarship, to candidates admitted to under graduate (UG) and post
graduate (PG) programs ONLY, whose mother tongue is Konkani
• The candidate is required go through the admission process specified for each program and there are NO preferential
/ reserved seats for Konkani speaking students

• The fee waiver is 10 % of the course fee

• The fee waiver is NOT applicable to PG Medical / Dental, Super specialty Programs

23. Scholarship Scheme of Interest Subsidy on Education Loan for MAHE Students
MAHE Manipal offers interest subsidy on education loan as scholarship, to the eligible students who joined various under
graduate (UG) and post graduate (PG) programs offered at MAHE. The scholarship is in the form of providing ‘Interest subsidy’
by partial reimbursement of the interest on education loan availed by them from banks. This scholarship scheme is applicable to
the following category of students only

Eligibility Guidelines
• A student can avail the benefit of scholarship under the Scheme during the term of his / her study.
• Loan shall be availed from a nationalized / scheduled bank for payment of course fee prescribed for the course. Loan
availed for payment of repeat term (casual term) fee will NOT qualify for the scheme.
• The benefits under the Scheme will NOT be extended to students in instances of irregularity in attendance, poor academic
performance, proven charges of indiscipline and failure in the examination.
• MAHE reserves the right to prescribe the eligibility norms of academic performance for each course
• The eligible loan for interest subsidy shall be the amount equivalent to the accumulated course fee already paid by the
student to MAHE for the respective academic years
• The fee shall be reduced by the subsidies (if any) provided by MAHE in the form of fee concessions as per Table below

All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) New Delhi awards scholarships for deserving & meritorious students
AICTE Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW) Scheme for Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) Students
AICTE has introduced the scheme on tuition fee (course fees include tuition and other fees) waiver for economically weaker
students, enrolled to the B.Tech program at Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) Manipal and Bengaluru campuses
AICTE Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW) Guidelines

• The proposed scheme will be applicable only to the students with parents’ annual income (from all sources) less than
Rs. 8 lakhs (or as specified by AICTE) for the Assessment year 2024 - 25
• AICTE TFW seats will NOT exceed 5% of the General intake for each branch
• Candidates with MET 2024 rank will be communicated separately regarding the process of applying for AICTE TFW
scheme
• At the time of application submission, following documents MUST be submitted
o Candidate’s parents (Mother & Father) self-attested photocopy of the Income Tax (IT) return form for
Assessment Year 2024 - 25 for proof of parents’ income. Once submitted, revised Income Tax (IT) returns will
NOT be accepted under ANY circumstances.
▪ If the parent(s) are working abroad, they shall submit the following
• Copy of the 12 month’s salary slip (April 2023 to March 2024)
• Copy of Passport
• Copy of Employment Visa
• After due verification, the list of students eligible for AICTE TFW will be communicated to all the candidates via email
for participation in online counseling
o On seat allotment in any round, candidates are expected to confirm the allotted seat within the timeline by
paying the stipulated fee
• The fee waiver awarded for the 1st year, will remain the same for the subsequent years
• The AICTE scholarship will cover only the tuition fee payable for the particular course of study and will NOT cover the
expenses such as hostel accommodation, books etc.
• As the number of scholarship has been considered based on the intake of the particular BTech branch, if any student
changes the branch in the second year then he / she is NOT eligible for continuation of the scholarship from 2nd year
onwards.
