Q. What is Domain Name and Domain Name System?

Search the name of some domain registrars and put them here

A domain name is a human-readable address used to access websites and other

resources on the internet. It is the text that you type into a web browser's
address bar to reach a specific website, such as www.example.com. Domain names are
easier to remember and use compared to numerical IP addresses, which are used by
computers to identify each other on the network.

Components of a Domain Name:

Top-Level Domain (TLD): The last segment of the domain name, such
as .com, .org, .net, etc.
Second-Level Domain (SLD): The part that comes before the TLD, usually representing
the name of the organization, business, or individual (e.g., example in
example.com).
Subdomain: An optional part that precedes the SLD, often used to organize different
sections of a website (e.g., blog.example.com).
What is the Domain Name System (DNS)?
The Domain Name System (DNS) is a hierarchical and decentralized naming system used
to translate human-readable domain names into numerical IP addresses that computers
use to identify each other on the network. Essentially, DNS functions like a
phonebook for the internet, enabling users to access websites using easy-to-
remember domain names instead of difficult-to-remember IP addresses.

How DNS Works:

DNS Query: When you type a domain name into your browser, a DNS query is made to
find the corresponding IP address.
Recursive Resolver: This is a server that receives the DNS query and is responsible
for tracking down the IP address.
Root Name Servers: The resolver first contacts the root name servers, which direct
it to the appropriate TLD name servers.
TLD Name Servers: These servers direct the query to the name servers responsible
for the specific domain.
Authoritative Name Servers: The final stop in the DNS query, these servers contain
the actual IP address associated with the domain name.
IP Address Returned: The IP address is returned to the browser, which then requests
the website from the web server associated with that IP address.
