OSHTRON 35, took few years & may have imperfections as I’m not a professional 3D designer rather learned by using the app. If any changes required, you can modify yourself with the given STL files or contact me to help you. Email – afafprinceosh@gmail.com IG- https://instagram.com/oshtron_fpv?igshid=OGQ5ZDc2ODk2ZA== The quad is combination of Deadcat & Squashed X design with reinforced arms. The canopy is available in both full 3D print version & Carbon fibre top plate with 3D parts version. The purpose of this design: 1) The concept of this design is to look aesthetic & true drone like. 2) Usually when battery is placed on top or bottom of quads, it looks bulky & even more with gopro. 3) It’s designed in order to have battery, action camera & quad’s components inside one solid structure so that it maintains the commercial /tactical drone look. 4) Since GoPro doesn’t make DVR board split camera module, hence O3 air unit fulfills the job. 5) So basically it is best with O3 unit, fc esc aio & battery. 6) The frame having reinforced arms & 5mm thickeness gives strong resistance to crash. Although not actual crash tested but my quad experienced an 8th floor dead drop on concrete road. The frame had only scratches but didn’t break. 7) To be fully crash resistant, the canopy was design to be made of injection molded plastic which is more durable than 3d printing. 8) The battery having a bottom 3d part locks it to the frame when secured by battery strap. Hence no movement of battery. 9) Having limitations the quad flies perfectly fine & the design or concept of having battery in the back doesn’t cause much problems. Limitations of this design: 1) FC ESC aio or stack dimensions should be under 40x35mm. 2) Available stack height is 27mm/30mm in CF/3D print version. 3) Battery must be 850mah 4s or less having 105gm or less. Otherwise the quad will be back heavy. With 850mah 4s the quad is already slight back heavy by 30-35gm at the back but doesn’t cause much problems in flight. The ideal battery is 650mah 4s at it weight is around 70-75gm which is 30-35gm lighter. For 6s users it will be bit of problematic cuz they should choose 6s that weight less than 105gm & to maintain aesthetic look, battery dimensions should be under 30x30mm. 850mah 4s was chosen due to it being 30x30mm dimensions in height and width. 4) Given that O3 unit is 40gm, that could balance out 850mah 4s weight but AUW goes 380gm. With 650mah 4s, AUW is 350gm. 5) 6s users are limited to GNB / Betafpv 550mah 6s. 6) The stack will seem messy & congested. 7) Although bottom frame is crash resistant but the 3d parts may not be if canopy is fully 3d printed instead of the carbon fiber version. 8) All Up Weight goes way above 250gm. Most likely 300-380gm+. Specifications of the Frame: 1) 5mm bottom unibody plate, 3mm top plate (semi-CF version) 2) Requires 27mm M2 Aluminum standoff with Outer Diameter 3.5mm 3) 20mm space for camera mounting 4) 40x35mm stack mounting space 5) 27mm/30mm stack height space Suggestions for perfection: 1) DJI O3 Unit 2) Jhemku ghf420 35a FC ESC aio / Fettec 35a FC ESC aio 3) 20x20 mm Stack for analog users 4) 650 mAh 4s lipo / 550 mAh 6s GNB/Betafpv Lipo Note: It’s not designed to be bando bashing quad rather more of cruising , medium freestyle along with aesthetic tactical look. But to be somewhat crash resistant it’s been given 5mm bottom plate thickness. Although yeah that thickness results in a heavier frame but I mainly designed it focusing more on the crash resistance than heavy quad cuz it’s bit hard to deal with crush as this is the only quad I’ve got. If you want a thinner bottom plate, you can contact me. Being a unibody plate the frame does have vibration issues for which tpu motor mount is to be used. **The O3 air unit might do well with Carbon Fiber top plate as it has mounting system rather adapter is used and the top plate has mounting holes. For 3d print canopy, it may be a bit hard to install the O3 unit but if you okay with it. To access the FC ESC aio’s USB port, modification must be done with the canopy STL file. Since the position of various aio or stack are slightly different, I left it up to you. The antenna part is also needed to be modified as I preferred battery strapped with the antenna but not everyone will prefer it. So you can modify it to however you want your antenna placement to be and it’d be best to use those 15cm antenna which you can fix to the canopy and extend the wire to the top back of the quad and secure it with the battery strap. Although it may lack bit of performance compared to the available frames but given this unique design the quad performs nicely. The 3D print canopy will be better than semi Carbon Fiber canopy if more durability isn’t concern given that with the carbon fiber there’s hassle for standoffs and etc.
