Unit Inspection
These instructions are intended as an aid to qualified, licensed service personnel for proper installation, adjustment
and operation of the unit. Read these instructions thoroughly before attempting installation or operation.
Provide sufficient space around the unit (minimum 3 feet for Access panels and 1 foot for other sides.) for piping,
wiring, servicing/maintenance.
Be sure that the roof / ceiling can support the unit weight (if the unit is decided to mount on roof/ceiling)
Position the unit in such way that water should not block inside the unit or in front of the coil.
Do proper conducting from drain outlet of the unit to soak pit to avoid drippage.
Detail installation method depends on building construction and local building codes.
If there is good room height, Mount the unit on a MS channel frame over solid floor or level pad. Refer the fig.- 8
The MS frame should be made of min. 4mm thick MS channel/angle and duly red oxide painted and minimum
height should be 24” (600 mm)
Unit should be located in such away that condensate water should not block with in the drain pan. Check unit
level and provide inclination /slop toward the drain hole.
Elevate the unit for proper clearance for piping/wiring servicing purpose.
Locate the unit properly on the suitable vibration absorbing pad or other recommended gasket between frame and
the unit to avoid transmitting of the vibration to the structure & also to reduce noise level. Refer below Fig -8 for
vertical / floor mounting installation.

Horizontal Position
Mount unit with the help of MS rod channel for unit support & use 1/8“ to 1/4" thick fire proof resilient gasket between
duct, unit, and mounting support. Refer fig-9.
Connect the supply air duct to unit supply air opening flange. Use canvas connection between unit & supply air duct to
avoid the transmission of vibration to unit.
The MS frame should be made of min. 4mm thick burr free MS channel/angle and duly red oxide painted (field
supplied).

Use 25.4mm (1") ID pipe or rubber hose to connect with GI nipple of unit to dispose the condensate water from
unit to termination point.
Condensate drain pipe should be terminated near to recommended drain trap or soak pits.
While installing the unit make sure that drain slope should be away from the unit.
In case the termination point or drain trap far away from unit, install 50 mm (2") trap using a field supplied clamp at
the condensate connection to Ensure proper drainage.
Ensure that the trap outlet should be 57 mm (2 ¼”) at a lower level than the unit drain pan condensate connection
to avoid over flowing of condensate water as shown in fig-10.

Indoor Units
• Connect the duct connections to unit supply and return air ducts.
• Refer to GA drawing for unit supply and return duct connection sizes and locations.
• Use canvas connection between unit & supply air duct to avoid the transmission of vibration to the duct.
• Don't run the unit without filter on return air side.
• Avoid abnormal duct size increases and reductions. It can adversely affects air and cooling performance.
• When electrical heater is installed, use fireproof canvas (or similar heat resistance material) between duct & unit
discharge connection.
• Do the proper duct sizing for air quantity (L/s or cfm) recommended at various External Static Pressures.
• All ducting should be insulated properly to avoid heat transfer.
• All ducts should be secured properly to building structural opening should be sealed properly to avoid any air
leakage or condensation.
• All main branch ducts (without 90° elbow) should be acoustically lined up to min. 10 ft length with the help of all
perforated sheet & fiber glass insulation of recommended density & thickness.
• Ensure Room thermostat fixed at proper location, sensing return air or room temperatures and set the thermostat
not less than 70° F.

• Field wiring should be done as per national fire, safety and electrical codes.
• Ensure that the voltage should be within +/-10% of rated voltage on unit. As operation of unit at improper
voltage may cause unit damage which could affect warranty.
• For recommended fuse sizes and draw amps. Please refer the Electrical data table.
• Install a branch circuit disconnector / isolator of adequate size to handle starting current as per local code.
Provide separate isolator for units & electrical heater circuit.
• Ensure that the isolators are easily accessible from the unit.
• Connect the power cables to unit from isolator through the holes provided in the electrical panel of unit.
• Route all control wires (24v or 240v) separately through the knock out holes provided in the electrical panel of
the units (as shown in fig.16).
• Connect the ground lead to the ground lug to avoid any electrical shock.
• Ensure phase sequence of main power supply to units, phase reversal may cause failure of compressors and
motors.

Refrigerant charging
Unit refrigerant system is factory charged. When recharging is necessary, Weigh the total charge indicated on unit
nameplate. Remove any refrigerant remaining in system before recharging. If system has lost complete charge, evacuate
system to 0.72 kPa (5000 microns, 29.7 -in. Hg Vacuum) before recharging are available at refrigeration supply firms.
Note: If oil need to be changed or added, only mineral oil for R22 and polyol Erter oil for R407C be changed.
Removal of compressor
First wear safety glasses and work gloves. Shut off power to unit & remove compressor access panel to expose
Compressor. Remove refrigerant from unit using approved refrigerant removal methods. Remove core from suction and
discharge line Schrader fittings (Pin valve). Disconnect compressor wiring at compressor terminal box. Use tube cutter
to cut suction and discharge lines at convenient place near compressor for easy reassemble to new compressor with
copper slip Couplings (if provided). Remove accessory crankcase heater (if used) from compressor base. Remove
compressor hold down bolts and lift compressor out. Carefully un braze suction & discharge line piping or stubs from
compressor. If oil vapor in piping/stubs ignites, use quenching cloth to extinguish. Muffler & Liquid receiver may
contain quantity of oil. So be careful while removing. Install a new compressor in unit. Braze suction and discharge lines
to compressor suction & discharge pipes. Ensure compressor hold down bolts are in place & then Connect wiring.
Reinstall accessory crankcase heater (if used) on compressor base. Clean system. Add new suction and liquid line filter
drier. If burnout is severe, then new filter drier must be replaced after a few hours of operation. Flush the system with
high pressure Nitrogen to clean the system & avoid any moisture in system. Triple-evacuate and recharge unit.
Condensate drain
Clean condensate drain trap with help of bottle brush then flush the condensate pan with clean water. Ensure that the
water should drain freely.
