Term of Reference For The Design of A World Leading Exhibition Center
1. Introduction
This document outlines the terms of reference (TOR) for the design of a world-leading exhibition center
located at Meskel Adebabay. The design must be completed within one week and is expected to attract a
high volume of customers. The center will serve as a premier location for exhibitions, events, and
conferences, showcasing cutting-edge design and functionality.
2. Objectives
To create an iconic and innovative exhibition center that stands out on a global scale.
To ensure the design is completed swiftly within one week.
To develop a center that will attract a significant number of visitors and become a landmark
destination.
To develop a design in respect to the proposed LDP.
3. Requirements
Representation of Africa: The design must embody and represent African culture, heritage, and
innovation.
Plot Area: The total plot area for the exhibition center must not exceed 2.5 hectares.
Existing Entrance Points: The design must incorporate and retain the existing entrance points to
the site.
4. Scope of Work
Case study: Conduct a case study of world-leading exhibition centers to gather insights and best
practices.
Conceptual Design: A detailed report outlining the design concept, inspirations, and key features.
Program development and zoning: Develop a detailed program and zoning plan for the site to
ensure optimal use of space and functionality. Proposed programs can include international
connectivity, economic affairs and tourism.
Architectural Drawings: Complete set of architectural plans, elevations, sections, and detailed
drawings.
3D Renderings: High-quality external and internal 3D renderings showcasing the design from
multiple perspectives.
Animations: High- quality animation of the design showcasing the building, landscapes and
surrounding areas.
Landscape Design Plan: Detailed plans for the exterior spaces, including plant selections,
hardscape, and outdoor amenities.
6. Timeline
Week 1: Completion of the entire design process including all deliverables by Friday, June 28,
2024. The design team must work efficiently to meet this deadline.
