Module 4.
Multicultural Authentic ELearning
The aim of this module is to examine the implications of multiculturalism for e-learning and
support learners to collectively identify, develop and employ pedagogic tools to deliver quality
multicultural e-learning in different and rapidly globalizing education contexts. Students will
gain a comprehensive understanding of the enablers and factors that affect multicultural e-
learning and thus be able to draw principles for the development of authentic learning in
diverse multicultural educational contexts. In the module the principles that affect the
successful implementation of culturally appropriate and responsive multicultural authentic
learning will be identified and multicultural authentic e-learning pedagogical practices will be
developed.

The complexity of the phenomenon to be examined challenges learners to form their own
argumented multicultural understanding. The learner’s multicultural professional identity
building and collaborative construction of knowledge underpin all module themes. A key
working method in this module is peer learning. A peer development operational model
provides a tool for teachers, which can be employed to evaluate multicultural authentic e-

performance.
