1. Identify and discuss ethical issues specific to your field of study or a particular scientific discipline.
How do falsification, fabrication, and plagiarism (FFP) manifest in this field? Provide examples of
each type of misconduct. Discuss the criteria for authorship in your field and analyze common
authorship disputes and how they can be resolved.

2. Define what constitutes a conflict of interest in scientific research. Provide real-world examples of
conflicts of interest from various disciplines and discuss how these conflicts were managed or
disclosed. Suggest strategies for researchers to identify and mitigate potential conflicts of interest
in their work.

3. Research and present a case study of a scientific fraud or misconduct from India and one from
abroad. Describe the nature of the misconduct, how it was discovered, and the outcomes of the
complaints and appeals process. Discuss the lessons learned from these cases and how such
issues can be prevented in the future.

4. Compare the features and effectiveness of plagiarism detection software such as Turnitin,
Urkund, and other open-source tools. Discuss how these tools are used to identify and prevent
plagiarism in academic writing. Provide a step-by-step guide on how to use one of these tools and
analyze its strengths and limitations. Discuss the role of these tools in promoting academic
integrity.
