1. Explain the concept of open-access publications and discuss their significance in the
dissemination of scientific knowledge. Evaluate the benefits and challenges associated with open-
access publishing for researchers, institutions, and the public. Discuss major open-access
initiatives and how they are changing the landscape of scientific publishing.

2. Describe the purpose and functionality of the SHERPA/RoMEO online resource. Explain how
researchers can use this tool to check publisher copyright and self-archiving policies. Provide a
step-by-step guide on how to use SHERPA/RoMEO and analyze its impact on the decision-making
process for authors considering where to publish their work.

3. Research and describe the software tool developed by Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) for
identifying predatory publications. Discuss the features and capabilities of this tool, and analyze
its effectiveness in helping researchers avoid predatory journals. Compare it with other tools or
methods available for identifying predatory publications.

4. Discuss the purpose and benefits of using journal finder or journal suggestion tools such as JANE,
Elsevier Journal Finder, and Springer Journal Suggested. Provide a detailed comparison of these
tools, including their features, usability, and accuracy in matching manuscripts to appropriate
journals. Demonstrate how to use one of these tools with an example of a research manuscript.
