Materials
List of all the materials you will need for this project:

• yarn ( I use 55% cotton yarn which measures 174 yards (159 meters) for 50 g, weight Sport /
5 ply (12 wpi), Gauge 24 to 30 st is 4 inches (10 cm)

You can use any color you like, but I will tell what I used:

o Cute Christmas ball – red (ball base), white (eyes and embellishments), dark yellow
(ball hanger),black (inside ball and pupils), green (irises)
o Scary Christmas ball - red (ball base), light yellow (eyes), dark yellow (ball hanger),
black (inside ball and pupils), white and green (embellishments)
o Cthulu Christmas ball - red (ball base and eyes outline), light yellow (eyes), dark
yellow (ball hanger), green (inside ball and tentacles), white (embellishments)

• 3,00 mm (D) hook


• needle, stuffing, scissors, etc.

I highly recommend embellishing your Christmas balls,


you can do it however you like and whichever colors
you like, but below you can see how I did it.

Each of my embellishments is made with needle and a


double strand separated from the yarn I am using, you
can also use mouline if you have some.

We have all the parts we need now for cute and scary
Christmas ball, let’s sew them together:

If you are making cute version:

Sew pupil to each eye (note the pupils are directed a


bit inwards)

With green yarn make an outline around each eye as


an iris.

With white yarn make a dot of light reflection in each


pupil (note both reflections are made on the same
side right or left)

Sew finished eyes to the black ‘inside ball’ part

If you are making scary version:

Sew yellow eyes to the black ‘inside ball’ (note the


outside corners of each eye are directed upwards)

With black yarn embellish triangular pupil in each eye

Sew black element with eyes to one of the ball bases

… bottom view of the ball for now.

Place the ends of the chain inside the hanger through


the middle of the magic ring.

Make a big knot inside or sew it firmly.

Stuff the hanger base tiny bit.

Sew the hanger to the top of the ball base

Stuff both ball parts very firmly

Sew both basis together, before sewing the last gap


stuff some more if needed.

Now it’s time for tentacles, sew them to the bottom
base – two small ones in the middle, large one
outside…..
