Diverse Flora and Fauna:
Karnataka in South India boasts a rich diversity of flora
and fauna.
The state has a substantial recorded forest area of 38,720
km2, constituting 22% of its total geographical area.

Wildlife Population:
Karnataka's forests are home to 25% of India's elephant
population and 20% of its tiger population.
The state hosts 524 tigers, approximately 12% of the
world's tiger population.
BANDIPUR NATIONAL PARK
Located in Gundlupet taluk of Chamarajanagar District,
covering over 800 km2.
Adjacent to Tamil Nadu and Kerala, Bandipur became one
of India's first tiger reserves in 1973 under Project Tiger.

NAGARHOLE NATIONAL PARK


Also known as Rajiv Gandhi (Nagarahole) National Park.
The river system and adjoining wildlife sanctuary
contribute to the park's diverse ecosystems.
Some of the species of mammals found in this park are
Indian elephant, four horned antelope, bengal tiger, Indian
leopard
