Basic Ground Rules

 Any team that arrives later than the designated timing will be given a penalty of 1 point in
the league table and if they are later than 5 minutes a walkover will be awarded to the
opposing team.
 No more than 5 members are allowed on the sidelines of the pitches and if spotted then a
warning will be issued and if it persists then a penalty of 1 point will be given.
 No vaping is allowed on the pitch, if you are doing it, then do it at your own risk.
 Please carry your own water bottles and food as a safety precaution because of the long
hours.
 No time wasting by the players, if spotted it would be condemned.
 The crowd’s decision would not be taken into consideration, an umpire/referee’s decision
would be the final decision.
 No practicing on the sidelines.
 Volunteers would be appreciated, for medic supply, balls boys, water supplies and in helping
the sports committee, it will be recognised and highly appreciated as well.

Badminton rules
Round robin format, all 5 teams play each other once. When one team plays another team, it
consists of 3 matches, 2 singles and 1 doubles. The team that wins 2 out of these 3 matches, wins the
round robin match.

Common rules:

 If your score is an even number, you serve from the right side of the court and if your score is
an odd number, then you serve from the left side of the court.
 No tennis-like serves, throwing the shuttle up and serving is NOT allowed.
 Service has to be cross court
 When you serve, the shuttle has to cross the front line, else it will result in short serve
 Racket should not touch the net in the middle of the game
 Shuttle on line is always counted as in.
 Double touch is not allowed

Singles rules

 Side box is not allowed during service and throughout the game
 Back box is allowed during service and throughout the game.

Doubles rules

 For service only, back box is not allowed and side box is allowed
 After service, full court comes into play
 For the team receiving the serve, both players should be in their own halves.
 The teammate of the serving player can stay anywhere in the court.
 The person who served and loses the point cannot serve again immediately. Service is always
alternate.
 After winning a point, the same person serves, and the side is switched.

Basketball Rules.
 Rules for Basketball
 1.The matches will be based on league matches.
 2.A maximum of 7 players can be included in one team and 5 players on the court.
 3.All the matches will be played with 4 quatres of 5 minutes each on running time with a 1-2-
1-minute break. (5-1-5-2-5-1-5).
 4.The clock will only be stopped during time outs, free throws, for injuries and other
technical issues/running time.
 5.Each team is entitled to two time-outs for the whole game.
 6.Each time out is 30 seconds long.
 7.A player will be warned on the 3rd personal foul and ejected after the 4th personal foul.
 Team fouls - when a team commits three (3) team fouls in a quatres, all subsequent fouls will
be penalized by two (2) free throws.
 8.In case of a tie during the regulation period, there will be at 3 minutes overtime with 1-
time outs (30 seconds long) for each team. (3 minutes only).
 9.Referee's decision is final.
 10.A person who commits two technical fouls in one game will be ejected from that game.
 11.Inappropriate attitude from players towards the referee’s is counted as a technical foul.

Fouls:

 1.A player cannot take more 3 steps while holding the ball (walk foul)
 2.cannot take two step if they are not in running position (travel foul)
 3.A player cannot dribble the ball with two hands at a time or dribble the ball again once you
stopped dribbling. (double dribble foul).
 4.A player cannot push with the other hand while dribbling (charging foul)
 5.A player cannot go back to the home court from opponent court with the ball. (back court
foul)
 6.A player Cannot hold ball for more than 7 seconds. (violation foul)
 7.The defending team player should not guard the offensive player without the ball. (moving
screen foul)
 8.The defensive player should be in the position while defending the offensive player, if the
defensive player moves by defending and the offensive player get pushed by his body it is
blocking. (blocking foul)
 9.If the player blocks inside the red box the offensive team gets 2 free throws if basket not
converted. If basketball is converted and it’s a foul inside the red box, then 1 free throw.
 10.The defensive player should not tap on the hand while the offensive team is shooting.
(hand tap foul). The player gets 2 free throws.
 11.If a player pushes or hits a player on purpose will be a technical foul.

Football
General Rules:

1. 10 minutes per half - 2 halves


2. Duration for the half-time break is 3 minutes.
3. Two teams, each consisting of 7 players, typically play against each other.
4. Usually, each team has one designated goalkeeper. The goalkeeper is the
only player allowed to use their hands within the penalty area. (If goalkeeper
is being changed, referee must be informed and can only be done at half-
time) Some 7v7 games adopt a modified offside rule, meaning a player might
be considered offside if they are positioned closer to the opponent's goal
line than both the ball and the second-to-last defender when the ball is
played to them.
5. Rolling Substitutions are allowed.
6. Like regular football, fouls such as tripping, pushing, handball (excluding the
goalkeeper within their own penalty area), dangerous play, etc., result in free
kicks or penalties. Yellow and red cards can be given for serious offenses.
7. 2 Yellow Cards for a single player in the league will lead to 1 game
suspension.
8. 1 red will lead to an ejection for the current game.
9. Throw-ins are used to restart the game when the ball goes out of play on the
sidelines, and corners are awarded when the defending team puts the ball
out of play behind their goal line.
10. Disrespectful behaviour with the referees (argument about a decision) or
other players can lead to yellow card. (applicable to managers or team
management)
11. Maximum 5 people allowed on pitch-side per team, including the
substitutions. If not followed, the penalty would be a point deduction for the
team from the league table.

Rules:

1. The matches are going to played in 8v8 format.


2. There will be 8 overs in an innings:

One bowler will have 3 overs.

Two bowlers two overs

one bowler one over

3. A team must finish their 8 overs in 27 minutes, if not penalty of 5 runs.


4. 3 minutes innings break
5. Chuck bowling it allowed.
6. The rules for boundaries will be explained on field at the time of the matchup.
7. Overthrows are allowed in the match.
8. Maximum two no-balls per bowler and if failed to follow, it will result in a penalty
where the bowler will not be allowed to bowl for the rest of innings.
