Briefing - Drill scenario to be described


Trigger Event:
Simulate a tank overflow due to a failure in the tank level monitoring system or during tank to tank fuel
transfer operations.
Immediate Effects:
Oil begins to overflow from the tank onto the deck and possibly into the water.
Immediate Actions:
Crew member detects the overflow and immediately raises the alarm.

Objective:
To ensure the crew is prepared to respond effectively to a tank overflow scenario, minimizing
environmental impact, ensuring safety, and adhering to the Shipboard Oil Pollution Emergency Plan
(SOPEP).
