The procedure described in this document is necessary to properly restore the Siemens MicroMaster440
modules in case these modules were replaced. To perform this procedure, you must have the software
(parameters list) relating to the inverter to be configured (and the application with which to connect) and
the cables for connecting with the device. All the software needed to complete the restoring of the module
is provided by GIMA TT in an accompanying CD.

1 Preliminary steps

1.1 Electrical connection

You must wire the module before installing the software. The following example shows the electrical
connection of a device.

2 Connection to System and Programming

2.1 Connecting your PC to the MicroMaster 440 module

For the connection with the MicroMaster 440 module, you must have the following cables and components
(see figure 2-1). Cable A is a 9-pole female-female serial cable. Connect cable A to the serial port of your
PC and to black mask B; insert the mask in the module to be programmed (Figure 2-2).

2.2 Programming

After installing the DriveMonitor application software, open the software relating to the module of which
the parameters list is to be restored. The parameter lists for the MicroMaster devices have ".DNL"
extension. Figures 2-3 refer to inverter A09501 relating to the asynchronous motor of the TinFoilReel1
(TB). As stated above, the software resides in a CD supplied by GIMATT when the machine was
delivered to you.

After opening the software a window like the one shown below will open, showing the code.

Click on "Open" as follows.

The window that appears asks you to select the file of the parameters you want to open; select the required
.DNL file.

Then the following window will open.

Click on "Online (Download EEPROM)"

If the connection was successful, the following image will be displayed.

In order to download the list of parameters to the inverter, click on "Trasferire all’azionamento il file dei
parametri".
Then you will be asked to select the list of parameters to be entered into the inverter as shown in
Figure 2-6.

The displayed window will show you the progress of the download.

Once the parameter list download is over, go Off-Line.

Should you need to change only a few parameters, you can do so directly via the MicroMaster module but
it is important to keep track of that change also in the parameters list file because, otherwise, you might run
the risk of losing those changes.
