3. HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION

Main Hazard : Highly Flammable


Flammability : Highly Flammable

Ignition of solvent vapour may occur on
contact with naked flame

4. FIRST AID MEASURES

Eyes : Flush eyes with water for at least 15 minutes


Skin : Remove contaminated clothing and wash contaminated skin with large amounts of
soap and water
INGESTION : If only a small quantity (not more than a mouthful) has been ingested, rinse the
mouth with water. Rest the patient. Do not induce vomiting. Call a doctor.
INHALATION : Remove the patient to fresh air. If breathing is difficult or has stopped, administer
artificial respiration. Lie down and place the patient in a flat secure position. Call
a doctor immediately. Do not introduce anything into the mouth.

5. FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES

FLASHPOINT [METHOD] : 12 degree C[closed cup].


FLAMMABLE LIMITS : Lower 3.3 %, Upper 19 %.
AUTOIGNITION TEMPERATURE : > 235 degree C
GENERAL HAZARD : Dangerous fire hazard when exposed to heat or flame. Vapor can flow
along surfaces to distant ignition sources and flash back
EXTINGUISHING MEDIA : Carbon Dioxide, Dry Chemical, Foam and Water Spray
HAZARDOUS : Oxides of carbon and noxious fumes

COMBUSTION PRODUCTS

EXPLOSION HAZARDS : Above flash point, vapor-to-air mixtures are explosives if within the flammable
limits noted above. Contact with strong oxidizers may cause fire or explosion
FIRE FIGHTING EQUIPMENTS : Wear full protective equipment and a self-contained breathing
apparatus with the full face piece operated in the pressure demand mode.
Water spray may be used to keep fire-exposed containers
Cool until they can be evacuated.

6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES (Leakage, Spillage)

Personal precautionary measures : Do not smoke. Keep the product away from all sources of ignition or heat. Ensure
a good ventilation of fresh air. Use protective equipments. Avoid inhalation of
vapours.
Precautionary measures for environmental : Avoid contamination of the drainage system, and subterranean, surface and ground
protection level water.
Neutralising, salvaging and cleaning up : Absorb with sawdust or other absorbent. It is preferable to wash with a detergent,
methods avoid using solvents. Prevent contamination of the water sources, the sewers, the
ground and the vegetation. Keep in tightly closed containers before disposal.

7. HANDLING AND STORAGE

Protect containers against physical damage. Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated location, away from any area where a
fire hazard may be acute. Containers should be bonded and grounded for transfer to avoid static sparks. Do not
permit smoking in storage areas. Use only non-sparking tools and equipment around the liquid. Empty containers may
be hazardous from residual liquid and vapor. Observe all warnings and precautions listed.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENTS

Engineering Control : Local exhaust ventilation is the preferred means of reducing employee exposure, unless
occupational hygienist has determined that exposure level presents no hazard.
PPE – Respiratory : Use only correctly fitted respirators approved for use with organic Vapors.
PPE – Hand : Use of nitrile gloves recommended
PPE – Eyes : Eye protection against splashes is recommended.

confusion, dizziness’ and drowsiness. Prolonged exposure may cause
unconsciousness

ENVIRONMENTAL : The product should not be allowed to enter drains of water courses of oil

13. DISPOSAL CONSIDERATIONS

PRODUCT : Material that cannot be saved for recovery or recycle should be


handled as a hazardous waste and disposed of at a govt. approved
waste facility to incinerator. Always dispose in accordance with current
regulations of Govt. Act for disposal
CONTUMINATED : Contaminated, empty containers must be disposed of as chemical
waste
