Sub: Legal Notice for Criminal and Civil Defamation and to cease and desist from making
and publishing defamatory remarks

Under the instructions of my client Mr. Abhi Pandey, an Actor, R/o: Oberoi Heights,
Parel, Mumbai- 400013 you hereby served this legal notice and state as under: -

(1) You (Noticee No.1) Mr. Jay Patel and your wife (Noticee No.2) Mrs. Reena Dutt
situated at above mentioned address. That my client and notice no.2 have known
each other since 2001 from their childhood and were apparently good friends with
each other. They both participated in the in Bigboss 14(the reality show) in the
year 2020.
(2) That on 31.12.2020 during the reality show, my client’s wife named Mrs. Tara
Tanna, who was also a participant, had an intense argument with Noticee No.2,
wherein Noticee no.2 instigated my client’s wife by saying that she knew nothing
about my client’s real issues and her relationship with my client. Noticee No.2
 also talked about lot of other things in regard with my client and the arguments
turned ugly and Noticee No.2 walk away from the house.
(3) Furthermore, Noticee No.1 Mr. Jay Patel husband of Noticee no.2 take this thing
to tweeter. On 01.01.2021, He tweeted that my client was a drunkard and asked
his wife Noticee no.2 too meet outside during odd hours and she had to call the
cops. The tweet also carried separate pictures of my client without obtaining their
consent.
(4) At the time of issuing the present legal notice, the abovesaid tweet had already
been retweeted by 7403 users and liked by 270K users.
(5) The abovesaid content tweeted by You Noticee no.1 is scandalous and malicious
which cannot be justified by any stretch of logic or reasoning as it totally false,
baseless and highly defamatory. My client Mr. Abhi Pandey is a reputed actor in
the film industry, reality shows and tv serials. He gained his reputation by
performing in it honestly and diligently. In fact, You Noticee no.1 also a reputed
actor having a verified account on tweeter with millions of followers on his
tweeter account, You Noticee no.1 tarnished my client’s reputation by spreading
false information about my client which led to immense loss of respect among the
general public and his fan base. Further, Noticee no.2 also spreading false
rumours about my client calling my client a ‘drunkard’ and claiming my client
sending you notice no.2 ‘sleazy messages’ which is untrue and highly defamatory.
(6) That you, the Noticee no.1 and 2, is hereby called upon you on behalf of my client
and serve this legal notice to pay a compensation of Rs. 1 crore (Rupees 1 crore
only) for loss of my client’s reputation and mental agony suffered by you and to
immediately tender an unconditional apology stating clearly that the aspersions
cast by you via the abovesaid tweet are frivolous, false and incorrect. You are
further called upon to immediately delete the abovesaid tweet from your tweeter
account and anywhere else posted by you and you are ceased and desisted from
maligning my client in any manner conceivable.

Failing to which, my client shall be forced to filing a criminal, civil, and other
miscellaneous legal proceedings against you in the competent court of law and in
that even, you shall be fully responsible for the same and he reserves the right to
do so.
