SECTION A : GRAMMAR

LESSON : QUESTION TAGS

A question tag is a question that is asked after a statement. It is


asked to check the statement that comes before if it is correct.

Rule: In a question tag, when the phrase is positive the tag is negative
and when the phrase is negative the tag is positive.

Example:

1. You like fruits. (positive statement)

Don’t you? (Negative statement)

2. You don’t like fruits. (Negative statement

Do you? (Positive statement)

Exercise I:

Complete the sentences below with the correct question tag from list of
answers given

SECTION B: VOCABULARY

LESSON: SOME COMMUNICATION RELATED WORDS

Communication is the exchanging of information by speaking,


writing or using. Some other medium like the television, radio, internet,
Facebook. In this lesson, we will be looking at the following words.

1. Journalist: A journalist is a person who collects, writes or distributes


news to the public. A journalist work is called journalism.

2. News: News is newly received information on recent happenings.


We can get news from listening to the radio, watching the television,
newspapers or on social media.

3. Audience: Audience is people who listen to news from the radio.

4. Viewers: These are people who watch television or particular


programs on television

5. Newspaper: It is a paper that is printed and distributed daily or


weekly and contains news, articles and advertisements.

LESSON: DANGERS OF ELECTRICITY

Even though we use electricity to run most of our machines and devices,
it is also very dangerous if proper care is not taken. Electricity can:

1. Kill

2. It can cause electric shock

3. It can cause damages to property.

4. High voltage or low voltage can also destroy appliances

I- SAFETY RULES TO FOLLOW AT HOME, OFFICE, SCHOOL AND FACTORY

1. Do not approach any powerful source of electricity

2. Electricity at any voltage can be dangerous and should be


approached with caution

3. Do not touch any electrical device with wet hands

4. Disconnect all electrical appliances like television, computer, iron


etc. after use.

5. Do not play with electrical devices.
