Plastic factory

Total land area – 5000 M2

Built area – 3500 M2, 2 factory halls and 1 office building

HDPE jerry can plant:

Plant consist of

1 extrusion blow moulding machine for big size jerry can production. 9 ltr and 20 ltr. Plant
supplied by Vinitha industries, India which is a medium quality machine. The machine is in good
condition.

1 extrusion blow moulding machine for small size jerry cans – 2 ltr, 3 ltr, 5 ltr etc. plant supplied
by CMP, India which is good quality machine. The machine is in good condition

1 injection moulding machine for 55 mm caps for the jerry cans. Machine supplied by
metalmeccanica, Italy which is good quality machine. The machine need minor maintenance
works to be in operation.

Total plant is almost new as it was not operated due to shortage of electricity.

Plastic Bag factory:

Plant consist of

1 PP extrusion moulding machine to make PP sheets.

1 sheet splitting machine to cut the PP sheet to threads

16 plastic bag weaving machines

3 plastic bag slicing machines

6 manual stitching machine for bags

All machines are in good condition and only needed minor repairs to be in operation. Plant
supplied by FU TA industries Co, Taiwan in 2001 but hardly operated due to electricity problems.
Current assessment:

According to the documents of LC & invoices, total cost paid to the suppliers for the plastic
woven bag plant is 760,000 USD. HDPE machine are invoiced with a value of 57,000 USD and
50,000 USD. Injection moulding is invoiced at 48,000 EURO.

Current estimated value of the machines as follows

Plastic bag factory – 300,000 USD

HDPE machines – 70,000 USD

Cap machine – 25,000 USD

Building & land – 225,000 USD (official assessment by civil consultant is 4.8 million birr)

Total – 620,000 USD

Investment needed:

Very low investment needed to make the plant back to operation. Estimated details as follows

Generator & compressor – 70,000 USD

Woven bag machines repair & start up – 25,000 USD

HDPE machines repair and start up – 20,000 USD

Premise cleaning & repairs – 5,000 USD

Total – 120,000 USD

Awash bank is planning to sell the plant if they could find 12 Million birr buyer.
