ACTIVITY 4

1. How did you learn to read and write?

- I learned to read and write through my mother’s teachings. She provided me with some visual aids to
recognize and be familiar with shapes, colors, letters in the alphabet, and many more. She taught me the
blending of sounds in each word until I finally learned how to read. She also taught me how to write step
by step.

2. How did you gain the skills that enabled you to read and write.

- All I did was practice reading and writing most of the time and I have also someone to accompany me.
We discuss what we read and make some insights.

3. What are the five most important and meaningful things you can do with your ability to read and
write.

- The most important aspect of reading and writing based on my experience is that it enhances your
comprehension, it made me fluent, it broadens your vocabulary, it develops your communication skills,
you can educate yourself and gain vast knowledge and you can apply it in your daily life.

4. How did these skills stay with you throughout the years?

- I kept on doing it on a daily basis until turns out to be a habit to maintain these skills.

5. What did you do to enhance these skills?

- I think of other things to improve it such as engaging in activities that require it, I just keep on
practicing to be better at it, I learn from the experts and more knowledgeable, and I also learned a lot on
the internet, and I try to challenge myself from time to time.

6. Do you think there is still room to enhance these skills?

- Yes, I admit I am not that good at these, there are still a lot of things to do to further enhance my skills.
But I believe that learning is a lifelong process, every day I enjoy learning new things and that every
single time I learn new things I get better and learn from my mistakes.
