Chisinau, June 13. /MOLDPRES/- State Roads Administration (ASD) signed today a contract on construction
of M3 road Chisinau - Comrat - Giugiulești - Romanian border (Vulcanesti bypass), km 0+000 - km 8+580,
with financial support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). Minister of (/en/banner/reg/?click=48)
Infrastructure and Regional Development Lilia Dabija made the statement today.

This section, for the rehabilitation of which the EBRD will allocate over 20 million euros, is part of the Loan
Agreement concluded with our country previously, renegotiated by Chisinau Government late last year.
According to it, the Republic of Moldova will receive a loan of one hundred million euros for the
construction and rehabilitation of roads. The money will be used for the rehabilitation of several road

sectors in the country: road R14, R6 – Codrul Nou – Soroca - Unguri – border with Ukraine, on Soroca –
Arionești sector; road R8.1, R8 – Arionești – R14, Arionești – Otaci sector; the M3 road Chisinau – Comrat –
Giurgiulești – the border with Romania, bypassing the city of Vulcănești; road R33 Hâncești – Lăpușna – M1.

"Rehabilitation of infrastructure objectives will facilitate citizens' access to road transport and increase road
traffic safety. At the same time, the state and quality of the national road network will be improved, by (/en/banner/reg/?click=50)
reducing road transport costs for road users in the Republic of Moldova, which will indirectly generate
economic growth", Dabija said.

Also, the offical thanked the external partners, especially Romania and the European Union for the support
to the improvement of the road infrastructure in our country and the rehabilitation of several access roads,
which had to be reanimated in the context of the war in Ukraine.

The loan agreement between our country and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development on (/en/banner/reg/?click=45)
the construction works and the rehabilitation of roads in the Republic of Moldova was ratified in 2013.
