SOCIAL STUDIES

5
TERM 1
Dear Student,

Assignments are valuable since they help you think critically about course
material while helping you grasp, organise, and integrate prior knowledge
with new concepts.

The assignments in this workbook have been specially designed to

nurture your Critical and Creative Thinking Skills (CCTS) and promote
out-of-the box thinking to help you improve your overall performance.
Critical thinking problems convert you from passive to active learners who
use course concepts to confront problems, gather and analyse data,
prepare hypotheses, and formulate arguments.

The Assignments here have been created keeping all these criteria in
mind and can be categorised into three types:
Digital (D): The assignments available on the Digital platform, which can
also be attempted in print.
Notebook (N): These assignments will be available on the device as well
as in print. Students will answer them in their individual notebooks.
Printable (P): These assignments need to be answered only in the
provided printed worksheets.
All the above mentioned assignments are further divided into class
assignments (CA) and home assignments (HA).
For Example:
CA_D 5.1 – Shows the first Digital Class Assignment of Unit 5.
CA_N 7.3 – Shows the third Notebook Class Assignment of Unit 7.
HA_P 6.2 – Shows the second Printable Home Assignment of Unit 6.
