Introduction
This specification along with all its attachments defines the requirement for design, engineering, procurement of materials,
manufacture/ fabrication, inspection and testing at vendor’s/ sub vendor’s works, surface preparation, painting, packing,
supply, delivery and supervision services at site.
The Vendor has sole responsibility for the correct application of the contractual documentation and the adherence to the
specifications for the supply.

The supply shall include as a completely shop-assembled equipment , with all accessories and appurtenances necessary to make a
functionally complete unit. The scope of work shall include the following, as a minimum for item:
Complete shop fabrication including insulation cleats, pipe cleats, supports, support cleats, lugs for lifting attachments etc., wherever
required.

Complete surface preparation and painting for each item shall be as per Specifications for Surface Preparation and Protective

2 Equipment shall be suitable for an outside storage minimum of 12 months
3 Inspection and testing shall be as per approved ITP
Detailed Fabrication drawing /Data sheet and design calculations (PV ELITE / HTRI) are required to be submitted for

All painting shall comply with the paint manufacture’s recommendations to provide a complete
primer, intermediate and finish coat system. Seller shall review the compatibility of paint systems on
subcomponent received that are already painted.
Carbon steel surfaces shall be prepared to the applicable code, or as required by the paint
manufacture’s recommendations.

SURFACE PREPARATION
The latest editions of any of the following standards shall be followed for surface preparation:
1. ISO 8501-1 / SIS-05 59 00: ISO standard for Preparation of steel substrates before
application of paints and related products. This standard contains photographs of the various
standards on four different degrees of rusted steel and as such is preferable for inspection
purpose by the Engineer-In-Charge.

2. Steel Structures Painting Council, U.S.A. (Surface Preparation Specifications (SSPC-SP).


3. National Association of Corrosion Engineers, U.S.A., (NACE).
