Materials needed:
1. YarnArt Jeans, 55% cotton, 45% acryl, 50g/160m, next
colors:
• for body and hat– beige № 07

• for decor – white № 62, red № 26, green № 63
• for nose - nude № 05
2. Some semi-wool or acrylic yarn of any thickness for

pigtails.
3. Crochet hook 2 mm or 2.25 mm (US: B, UK:14)
4. Fiber, thick sewing needle, pins.
5. Safety eyes 5 mm, 2 small beads.
5. Piece of cardboard 4 on 4 inch for gnome’s base.
If you follow this advice your gnome will be 18 cm.
Yarn tip: cotton/acryl or cotton 100%

sc – single crochet
hdc – half double crochet
dc – double crochet
tr – treble crochet
sl st – slip stitch
inc – increase, 2 sc in the next sc

Body.
With beige yarn.
Start with making a round base. Work in continuous rounds
without slip stitches.

Stuff the body evenly and firmly with the fiber.

Cut off the yarn.
Finish the round in an invisible way: pull the end of yarn
through the last stitch completely, thread the end of yarn
through the needle, skip one stitch and guide the yarn into
the next stitch as shown on the photo.
Insert the needle back in the same hole where the yarn
comes from. Fasten the obtained stitch.
This stitch is called a «closing stitch». When you are
finished, fasten the yarn on the back side of detail.
Head of Gingerbread.

sl st in next 2 stitches. Repeat to the
end of round.
Cut off the yarn, tighten the loop, hide the end.
Spots.
With red yarn.

Cut off the yarn. Crochet 2 spots.
Arms.
Start with white yarn.
Rnd 1: 8 sc in the MR, go on in
continuous rounds without slip
stitches.

Connect the red yarn:

Stuff the bottom part of the arm
(palm) with stuffing material, you
don’t have to stuff the top part of
the arm.
Then squeeze the hole of the hand so

Crochet the opposite stitches with 5
sc.
Nose.
With nude yarn.

work along the other side of the foundation chain: 1 sc, 1
hdc, 1 dc, 1 sc.
Cut off the yarn, leave a long end for sewing.
Berries for decoration.
With red and white yarn. Crochet 2 berries for hat and
two for ornament.

With red yarn.
Make the Magic Ring, 1 sc, 3 ch, 3 tr, 3 ch, sl st. This
is first half of bow.
Next, similarly crochet second half: 3

ch, 3 tr, 3 ch, sl st.
Cut off the yarn. Hide the end.
Sew the hairstyle and decoration and bow to the ornament,
embroidery the eyebrows, shadows and smile.
Assembly and decoration.

For pigtails cut the yarn, tie a piece of yarn to the 5
loops of 29 round. Distance between pigtails 5 sc.
Attach the arms to the body with some pins between 29 and
30 rounds of the body, the center of nose between pigtails.
Gingerbread hat: Sew the eyes between 9 and 10 rounds,
distance 4 sc. Sew hairstyle and decor to the hat.
Embroidery the smile and eyebrows. Sew the arms and spots.
Put on the hat. The tops of arms and nose should be placed
under the hat.
Take off the hat, sew the arms and nose to the body.
Put on the hat and attach it to the body with hidden
stitches.
