Then, once you have made the four fins, you gonna change the
orientation of the yarn tail in 2 of the fins (in one of the front fins,
and in one of the back fins!) with a needle, like this:

crochetbysilviaS2

So you will have two pairs of symmetrical fins.

This is because of the orientation of fins in the turtle. So it’s very
important!

after completing R11 you will

have something like this
R12: CC in previous stitch to grey yarn, and do 60 sc in the 60 back
loops you left behind in R11. This is why you needed to mark the first
back loop before. [60]
R13: 6 sc, ch 5, skip 5, 9 sc, ch 4, skip 4, 4 sc, ch 3, skip 3, 4 sc, ch 4, skip
4, 9 sc, ch 5, skip 5, 7 sc [60]
R14: (8 sc, 1 dec)x6 [54]

After R16, sew the fins and the tail to the shell but don’t forget the
correct orientation. Look at the photos of below:

crochetbysilviaS2
crochetbysilviaS2

This is where fins and tail must be placed. The tail, in the hole of three
stitches (the smallest) and the two smallest fins next to it (left hole and
right hole).
The two holes of the front part of the shell (not seen in the right photo),
are for the two largest fins. Note: I like to put the fins with the border
stitches side up, like in the photo, because it’s prettier in the plushie.

R17: (5 sc, 1 dec)x6 [36]

R18: (4 sc, 1 dec)x6 [30]
R19: (3 sc, 1 dec)x6 [24]
R20: (2 sc, 1 dec)x6 [18]
Put stuff in
R21: (1 sc, 1 dec)x6 [12]
R22: x6 dec [6]
Sew the six stitches FLO as in the photo of below, pull and hide yarn
into the shell, then cut.

Now sew the head to the turtle between the two front fins. In the
photos of below I indicate how you must sew to do an invisible sewing.

In the head, In the body,

sew upwards sew downwards.
Repeat this ‘till the end
