FASHION SHOW FIASCO
We were really looking
forward to that fashion
show. We fantasized about it
ever since the Class of 2022
ate and left no crumbs. We
had every sort of idea of
what we’d wear and what
country we’d represent,
what songs we’d put and
what dances we’d do. The
anticipation was high.
But it all came crashing
down, the excitement falling
flat when we found out that
our beloved Fashion Show
would happen when everyone
is running around getting
food and trying to get hope.
We thought that like other
years, it would be towards
the end of the International
Day program. My oh my were
we terribly mistaken.
Innovation is good and we
love change, have nothing
against it promise. Some
changes just hurt. The
Fashion Show was scheduled
to after the program.
You see that point in a
program when everything is said
and done and no one’s paying
attention? Yeah that’s when we
were to parade.
Even worse, we had a major
organizational fail with the
music that each pair or group
planned to walk on. As a result
some people were walking down
the red carpet to a song they
hadn’t planned to walk to, or
someone else’s sound would play,
or there was no music at all!
It. Was. A. Fiasco.
When it was over we all
retreated to our class to change
out of our Fashion Show outfits.
We were all dumbfounded and not
just a little bit disappointed. It
was messy and underwhelming,
but our laughter rang loud
despite that. We laughed,
reminiscing about the worst
parts of the show, shaking our
heads at how unbelievably bad it
went.
Though we say it was horrible,
it was still a good time because
at least we got a good laugh out
of it.
And we looked good.

 PROJECT SUSTAINABILITY
A project with a goal to reduce the amount of plastic, paper, food and electricity
waste in the school. The project tackles these issues by creating departments
for each key issue and implementing passive and active solutions.

Raising funds and creating awareness of the reality of Breast Cancer to the
school population, in hopes of helping and educating the MGIS student body.
The project is an effort done by the people for the people.

CLASS MEMORIES
THE MAFIA REVOLUTION
Mafia is a game we used to
play all. The. Time. Any free
moment we had, we were
cutting pieces of paper up and
scribbling Cs and Ms on them.
The game is simple. We would
write down a C or an M on
pieces of paper and every
player would draw one.
Whoever gets an M is a Mafia,
and a C is for Civilians. The
Mafia have one goal: to take
out as many- if not all -the
Civilians. The Civilians were
charged with uncovering the
Mafia.
Every game the Civilians
would close their eyes and the
Mafia look at each other and
decide who to eliminate. Then
there’d be a round where we
all discuss amongst ourselves
who we thought was the Mafia
before eliminating a player
under suspicion of being a
Mafia. Obviously this demands
utmost discretion and would
require the civilians to peak
when asked to close their eyes.
Obviously you cannot trust
people to abide by those simple
rules (cough cough Grace and
Laiqah). Some people have very
stiff eyelids that close
difficultly and hence resulting
in them peaking all the time.
Besides our stiff-eyed friends,
we had the people who argued
like the game was a murder
trial. If it isn’t Maria accusing
Kenneth of being the Mafia, it’s
Steeve making wild assumptions.
Anyone can tell you that a
game with these people will
always (always) end in a
vigorous argument. They will
stand and raise their voices
and round up everyone else to
believe them like crazed
politicians. Lord knows the
game will be unending if Laiqah
decides to join the fight.
Every game was dynamic and
lively (not to say utterly
chaotic). We loved every minute
of each game; it brought us
closer as a class, sealing the
ties we have now.

THE IDEAL CLASS DECORATION CONTEST
Throwback to the beginning of
the school year when the ideal
class decoration contest was
launched,and both YEAR 13
classes were eager to win the 1st
place.Although the competition
included the 2 year 12 classes it
was clear that this was a
competition between Year 13
Lotus and Year 13 Lilac. Both
classes crept into their secret
chambers and started
brainstorming ideas with such
discretion it was almost
impossible for the opposition to
know what they were planning
unless slippery lips like those of
Steeve let it spill. A few fibs
were told by members of each
class to throw one another off
and to avoid copy cats...Well,
turns out that wasn’t necessary
because both classes had
completely different ideas and
by completely I mean entirely
different. Year 13 Lotus planned
to decorate their class as a
glorious forest (cough cough)..if
you know you know, whiles the
Year 13 Lilac class decided on a
museum in ruins.
Both ideas were incredibly
creative... not surprising coming
from innovative young
intellectuals such as ourselves
however the question was “which
class would be able to pull their
idea off seamlessly?”
The Year 13 Lilac class seemed to
have a headstart as they began
bringing their vision to reality
early enough. Students from Lilac
(Melissa, Rose and Roxane) laughed
and mocked the Year 13 Lotus class
mercilessly comparing their
glorious forest to an “abandoned
farm” but the Year 13 Lotus class
doubled their efforts with
students like Grace, Geraldine,
Ilona and Maria putting their
blood, sweat and tears into
bringing their glorious forest to
life and at the end no one not even
the people of the “Ruins of
Paschalia” could deny that the
Year 13 Lotus class was absolutely
breath-taking.Obviously the Lotus
class won 1st place and well
“Paschascha” got 3rd place out of
4...just to let out a seret, Papu
cried.haha....i guess you can tell
this was written by a Lotus
student...
