Two-day Orientation Programme - 3rd Semester 2023
18th and 19th December, 2023

Objectives of the Programme:

● To gauge the need for placement training for aptitude.

● To acquaint the students with the necessary skills required for placements.

● To test the basic knowledge of the students in their chosen specialization domains.

● To provide knowledge about the future scope for specializations chosen.

Date: 18th & 19th December, 2023 Venue: Auditorium, JCMM

As a part of introducing the students of the third semester towards their chosen specializations,
JCMM organized a two-day orientation programme on 18th and 19th December, 2023. The first
day included testing the students need for placement training and check the basic knowledge they
carry in their selected specializations. In view of the same, the first day was scheduled to test the
aptitude and specialization knowledge of the students. For day two, an orientation was organized
in the form of a guest lecture that highlighted the future scope of each specialization. This was
followed by an activity for the individual specializations chosen by the students.

Details of the Orientation

DAY ONE: 18th December, 2023.
The test conducted for the day included the following:

● First session was conducted as an Aptitude test with questions relating to Quantitative

aptitude, Logical reasoning, English language and Computer skills.

● Second session was conducted for tests on core specializations including: Marketing,

Finance and Human resource.

DAY TWO: 19th December, 2023

● First Session: A guest lecturer was arranged on “Becoming an Entrepreneur and

overcoming fear”. Guest speaker Mr. Johnson F., proprietor of Planet Hydraulics spoke
and gave insight on the topic. He also highlighted the scope that each specialization
including finance, marketing and human resource has.

● Second session was carried out with the core specialization activity separately for three

groups simultaneously. The activity gave an orientation to the students for the
specializations that they are going to pursue for the upcoming two semesters. The
activities included the following:

⮚ Finance: Simulation problem on accounts

⮚ Marketing: Introduction to Marketing

⮚ HR: Recruitment Assignment
