Q. As a soldier, how will you uphold the AFP Code of Conduct (formerly AFP
Code of ethics) and AFP Core Values?

As a part of the AFP organization, we uphold the AFP Code of Conduct and AFP
Core Values by upholding the civilian authority over the military, once we submit
ourselves to the command and control of the president of our republic, we emphasize
the legal and moral obligation of the soldiers as one of the ordinary citizens to obey
laws, carryout directives and subscribe to the regulation that enacted and issued by the
branches of our government. Furthermore, by knowing the responsibility to serve and
protect the people and the country's sovereignty from threats to the state's well-being,
focusing on the AFP history that utilizes the documented history of our fighters and
national heroes that honor their sacrifices. In case of conflicts between countries or
continents, the knowledge gained from previous conflicts was used to reform our tactics
and adherence to maintain global peace and ensure our country’s safety, we will be able
to recognize that these previous events had aided in the continuous growth and
development of the Armed Forces of the Philippines behavior or actions, further
establishing within the ethical and professional conduct we must know the different Core
Values of this organization not only specialized knowledge and skills but also a distinct
lifestyle governed by a commonly held belief-system containing non-negotiable
enduring core values of honor, loyalty, valor, duty and solidarity that will guide my way
and members live our lives, perform our duties, and account for our behavior under all
circumstances of peace and conflict situations, as a member of the AFP organization we
shall voluntarily bind ourself to build and sustain our character and lifestyle with the core
values as the foundation of our acts and deeds to uphold our responsibilities in this
organization.
