Relation between E-commerce and Digital Marketing

E-commerce is a business where buying and selling completely depends on the internet. Therefore the
Digital Marketing comes into the picture, as it is the only medium to help E-commerce business to grow.

Digital Marketing focuses on incorporating it’s appropriate marketing channels to make it easier for
E-commerce businesses.

Using Digital Marketing, E-commerce creates huge revenue as it helps to acquire customers and brand
value.

It has become very important to grab customers attention as they get distracted really easily, this is where
Digital Marketing comes into the picture and help E-commerce businesses to go through such challenges.

Difference between E-commerce and Digital Marketing

In general, there is no difference but when we get into the depth of each terms then we find out the
difference between them.

Digital marketing is one of the channels to promote and sell your product. Let's say you have a pen. You
advertise the pen in Google, create memes and post in FB and Instagram. People like and soon your pen is
known to people in the market. This is a example of what digital marketing is.

E commerce, on the other hand is selling things online. So say, a customer purchases your pen via your
website. He makes the payment online through a debit or credit card and the pen is delivered to him. This
is online shopping or e commerce.

Amazon, Flipkart, Alibaba are some of the e commerce giants. These giants use social media platforms and
Google to market their products.
