Maintenance on Pipes and Pipes Fittings
 Always Check to see if pipes are in good conditions throughout Treatment
Plant if rust is found replace that section of pipe or whole pipe

 If leak is found at pipe joint, replace joint, replace damaged seal with new
ones and replace damage bolts and nuts with new ones.

 Inspect the fittings regularly. It is crucial to report any issues immediately to

management/Supervisor. Therefore, having a schedule for regular
inspections is a good idea to detect minor problems and solve them before
they get bigger.

 For a small leak, a repair clamp may be fixed over the leak to seal it. Small
leaks in steel pipe may be welded closed.

 In all cases, ensure that exposed and new sections of pipe are carefully
cleaned. Take special care to ensure that any solids that may have entered
the pipe during the repair are removed.

Maintenance on Pipe Valves & Air Vent /Value

 Valves should be inspected and maintained on regular bases, but at least
once a year and always replace according to manufactured recommend.

 Nuts and bolts should be tightened, avoiding over-tightening.(Valve body)

 If air value/Vent is damaged replace with new ones which is recommended

by the manufactured

 Isolation valves should be exercised (opened and closed) at regular intervals

to ensure they are operational and don’t get stuck.

Maintenance on Storage Tank

 Make sure level gauge is working properly if not report it to you supervisor

 Check storage tank to see if there is any leakage, if any report immediately
to your supervisor

 Storage tank should at least wash once a year for ground water

 Outside painting should be made at least once every five years

Maintenance on Aerator
 Aerator must be clean every month

 Check to see if pipe connection to the aerator is leaking if leaking report it

to management

 Check to see the filter element is in good condition if not reported it your
supervisor and if needed to replace it must by the manufacture
recommendation

 Regular maintenance including cleaning ,filter replacement and inspection of

components can help prevent these issues and ensure that blowers operate at
peak efficiency

 Check to see the base of the aerator is on and not sinking if not report to
your Supervisor
Maintenance on Chlorine System
 Always make sure that they are no leakage in the chlorine line, If any report

management
 Check to see if all belts on the generator is on

When all the check are finish Then you can start the generator

 When turning off the generator with the lowest current then the
highest ,then finally cut off the generator
Maintenance on Boosters Motor & Pumps
 Make sure it is cover to protect shelf life on the booster pump& motor
 Inspect booster pumps & motor for crack, breakage, unusual sound,
burnt smell, leakage etc. If newly install make sure it is align properly
 If grease nipple is found grease the pumps & motor according to
manufacture recommend
 Check the foundation on which the motor & pumps are mounted on to
see if it is in good conditions

Maintenance on the Well Pumps

 Static and dynamic test should be done every mouth
Static refers to the level of water (in a well for example) undisturbed, no
pumping conditions and distance from the land surface (or measuring point)
to the water in the well under non-pumping (static) condition.

Dynamic test deals with the depth of water in a well when well is being
pump at a given rate.

 At the junction box to the well pumps check should be done every week to
see if there is any slack connection or if anything is burn and break.
Maintenance on the Panels to the Booster, Well pumps and chlorine
 Make sure that access to the panels are easy
 Make sure they are close when not in use
 Inspections should be done every two weeks to the electrical apparatus,
inside the panel if there is any emergency
 Operator from time to time open the panel and look inside to check for burnt
smell, loose wire etc. If found report to Management
 If parts are needed for inside the panel it should be bought according to
manufacture specifications
