Vince - DeRosa - 100th - Bday Recording Info
What to Wear: Please wear concert black (nice black or tux) with a splash of color or party hat.
Recording Tips:
• Please tune to 440Hz.
• Please shoot videos horizontally (widescreen) on your smartphone, tablet, or camera.
• Record in a space where there is low background noise.
• Record the entire piece from start to finish even if you aren’t playing the whole time.
• Smartphone microphones are typically located on the bottom of the phone, so avoid touching/blocking
that microphone.
• If possible, use a tripod or prop your phone securely.
• Indirect, natural lighting is best. Make sure there is enough light that we can see you, but not so
much that it drowns you out. Please avoid direct sunlight.
• Choose a setting/background that is interesting, but not too cluttered. Avoid white walls where possible.
Strong colors are best.
• Make sure your head is fully in frame, from your shoulders to the top of your head.
• When you record please use an ear bud or headphones to listen to the reference track. Do not play the
track through open speakers, as the microphone on your phone/camera will pick up the sound. Please
note that you cannot record on your phone while also playing the reference track, so you will need to use
two different devices.
