ABOUT THE ROLE:
This role is a permanent full-time position.
As compliance engineer, you will be the senior professional engineer accountable for ensuring that
equipment referenced in relevant legislation is designed, installed, inspected, operated, and maintained
in accordance with relevant South32 Mandated Procedures and Local / Regional Legislation. Equipment
Compliance is critical to enable Mozal to continue to conform to legislative and operational license
requirements while continuing to meet business needs. Mozal is recruiting for engineers with expertise
in the following disciplines:
• natural gas reticulation equipment and systems
• lifting equipment
• electrical
• fire systems
• pressure equipment
Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
• Lead as the single point of accountability for the management, control and ongoing development of
Regulated Plant strategies and procedures;
• Provide key contributions to Regulated Plant technology development and its communication;
• Provide technical specialist support to management, maintenance, and engineering personnel, on
Regulated Plant issues to achieve understanding of and compliance with specified Regulatory
requirements;
• Reviews/reports progress against conformance plans for Regulated Plant across the site;
• Act effectively as the legal conscience and technical expert with respect to Regulated Plant in the
asset.
ABOUT YOU:
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
Ability to deal with internal and external stakeholders up to senior Management level;
Expert level understanding of systems and equipment installation, maintenance and regulations in either
of the following fields:
• natural gas reticulation equipment and systems;
• lifting equipment and systems;
• electrical equipment and systems
• fire systems
• pressure equipment and systems
Qualifications for this role are:
• Relevant engineering degree for the discipline with at least seven years of experience covering
discipline equipment installation and standards compliance. (advantage: practitioner and/or inspector
certificate).
