1.1 Probing techniques are
This technique involves asking for more information about a previous statement.
This is useful if you need more information to clarify a situation or if you need to sort
out an issue by uncovering layers of details, opinions or feelings.

1.2 Paraphrasing is an essential skill in conflict resolution. It means restating what you
heard back to the person you are speaking with. Paraphrasing can help you ensure that
you are hearing the other persong and it can make sure the other person feels heards.

attention, provided you are genuine in using them

1.4 The differences between listening and hearing :


- listening: doing something with the sound that you hear and how you interpret it
- hear: sound just enters your eardrum, passes through your ear canal

2. The difference between open and closed questions:
- open question that listener get more information, given a chance to explain, to tell how
they feel about an issue or offer suggestions.
- Closed questions can be answered with a single word or two or a simple yes or no.
They begin the closing process in a conversation or provide confirmation of a detail but
they don’t usually lead to gathering more information

3. Active listening is mean that we try to understand things from the speaker’s point of view.
It includes letting the speaker know that we are listening and that we have understood
what was said. Active listening can be described as an attitude that leads to listening for
shared understanding.
Tips:
- Listen intentionally for people’s names
- Listen with interest
- Try to get rid of your assumptions
- Listen for what isn’t said
