WorkFlow:

Workflow enables you to set up workflow rules. A workflow rule identifies what kinds of record changes or
additions trigger specified workflow actions, such as sending email alerts and updating record fields.
Workflow rules and actions are associated with a specific object (and can cross objects only to update fields on
a related master record).

1. Create a new task on an event


2. Update a field
3. For email alerts
4. For outbound messages

Navigation: Setup >Create > Worflow & Approvals > Workflow Rules

Requirement: In Battle station Object – Project Status as “Complete” – we need to automate the
weapon status as “Fully operational”.
Once Workflow Action are added – Please activate the Workflow rule.

Testing: Take any battle station record – PS as Complete and click Save button. After record saved,
please check Ws as Fully operational or not.

Email Alert using WorkFlow rule:

You can send email notification to the user. To create Email Alert - We need email template. 1 st will see
how to create email template.

Navigation:

Setup > Communication Templates > Classic Email Templates > Click New Template Button
Example: Email Template
New email Alert in the Work flow action
If you want to do some action like field update etc after 30 mins or time dependent. then you can use
time dependent options.
Click Add Time Trigger button

Workflow rule

– If you want to do any action immediately- Use Immediate Workflow Actions

If we have to sent after 30 mins or some time dependent – Use Time Dependent Workflow actions
Approval Process:

Navigation: Setup > Create > Workflow & approvals > Approval Process
