1. In dormancy and diapause, the activity of the entity is reduced during stress. Hence it will come
under suspension(suspend).
5
1. In bees, drones arise from unfertilized eggs(n). Hence they will give all their genes to their
daughter. So, their whole genes are passed to their daughter. Hence, 100% relatedness. But the
opposite is not true since a daughter has received 50% of genes from mother. Hence, it is related
to its father by 50%.
6
1. In the logistic model of growth, maximum growth is seen when N = K/2(Try to put the value and
analyse).
Template Strand is the strand of DNA having 3’-5’ polarity, and RNA is polymerised on it in 5’-3’
In glycogen, the successive glucose units are held by 1,4-a-glycosidic bond i.e. between C1 and C4 of
two successive glucose molecules, whereas the branches of glucose units are held by 1,6-a-glycosidic
linkage ie. by C1 and C6 carbons of two successive glucose units. So, option B is correct.
Just make a Punnett square, and see the number of respective phenotypes asked in the question. On
the basis of possibilities, make the ratio, out of a total 16 individuals.
10
Analyzing all the options, option A is incorrect as both enzymes can be the same as the same enzyme
can have two different substrate concentrations for different substrates.
Option C says that both enzymes are necessarily the same, but they may be different, so it is incorrect.
Option D says that both enzymes necessarily have different affinities for substrates, but it is not always
true as both enzymes can be the same which implies they may have same affinities. So, it is also
incorrect.
Option B is correct as these enzymes may represent the same enzyme acting on the same substrate
but at different substrate concentrations as their Km is also the same.
11
This trait is surely not an X-linked disorder, because of equal prevalence in both sexes. Make punnett
square, and see for the possibility of traits as told in the class(hit and trial method).
12
13
In the first generation, we will get two hybrids, in the second generation, two hybrids and two light
DNA, in the third generation we will see 2 out of 8 individuals to be light and will be hybrid.

Amino acid links itself with the normal respiratory pathway at the step of pyruvic acid formation.

Aldehyde and alpha hydroxy aldehyde and ketones, formic acid will give Tollen's reagent test.

Due to the presence of the -NH2 group electron will be transferred to the C of the - CONH2 group, and that’s why
it will not withdraw the electron from the benzene ring. So, the electron density of ring II is most in all three
rings, and that is why electrophiles will attack ring II
26
Compound (I) is a terminal alkene, and compound (II) is a non-terminal alkene. Compound (II)
is more substituted (and hence more stable) than compound (I). Hence, compound (I) has more
heat of hydrogen than compound (II).
