Nowadays, the office has no longer been the only work place since many people are

considering working from home. Some people say that it would be better if the majority
of employees worked from home instead of traveling to the workplace every day.
However, there are both pros and cons to decide to do it. In this essay, I will discuss some
benefits and drawbacks of this trend.
One of the main advantages is that people do not have to spend a large amount of time
each day going to work and then back home. For many people, this can take an hour or
more each way and it is a major cause of stress. By not sitting in a car in traffic, they can
not only save time, but also avoid stress. Besides, less traveling will help reduce traffic
jams and pollutants to our environment. Moreover, people are under less stress since
they get to decide when to work and when to take a rest. Working at home does not
mean staying inside all day long; people can choose to work in their garden or
backyard, wherever makes them feel convenient to work. These things will help them to
be able to work more efficiently.
On the other hand, working from home can be lonely. Not having co-workers to chat
with and help you out if you have a problem that cannot be fixed online is a significant
disadvantage. Even if you can contact someone via email, it is often better to solve
problems face-to-face. Whereas working in an office can create a team atmosphere that is
better for work productivity and the success of the company. Another drawback is that
some people may get distracted from their work by external factors. They will be asked
to do many things such as taking care of their kids or doing household chores. It makes
them forget to attend their meeting or miss an important call.
In conclusion, there are two sides to everything and working from home is not an
exception. However, personally, I think its advantages outweigh the disadvantages.
