Liqvid eLearning's Impactful Intervention in Eklabya Model Residential
Schools

The Challenge:

The Odisha Model Tribal Educational Society (OMTES), dedicated to improving tribal education,
recognized a significant challenge in the English language proficiency of students in its Eklabya Model
Residential Schools (EMRS) and 19 educational complexes. These students, often from remote areas and
belonging to primitive tribal groups, lacked the necessary English language skills to fully participate in
academic and professional opportunities.

The Solution: A Personalized, Tech-Enabled Approach to English Language Learning

To address this challenge, OMTES partnered with Liqvid eLearning Services to design and implement a
comprehensive English language program. The program emphasized speaking skills through sustained
practice, utilizing a blended approach of instructor-led sessions and self-paced learning for individual
recording and video activities.

The program's methodology was grounded in the understanding that:

• Speaking Practice: Continuous speaking practice is essential for language improvement.

• Human Touch: Instructor-led sessions provide personalized guidance and support.

• Technology: Tablets facilitate one-on-one practice, video-based activities, and self-assessment.

The Results: Remarkable Improvement in English Language Skills

The impact of the program was assessed at EMRS Chandragiri, Gajapati, through pre- and
post-assessments. Students were evaluated on pronunciation, grammar, confidence, and attitude towards
learning. The results were striking:
• Significant Improvement: Post-assessment scores showed a remarkable increase across all assessed
areas.

• Increased Confidence: Students exhibited greater confidence in their speaking abilities and a more
positive attitude towards learning English.

• Fluency and Comprehension: Students demonstrated improved fluency, grammatical accuracy, and
comprehension of the English language.

The success of the program is a testament to OMTES's commitment to providing quality education to tribal
students and Liqvid's expertise in delivering effective language learning solutions.
